We examine how a scenario of coexisting two-particle dark mater can be realized in the extended seesaw model, which we have proposed previously to accommodate small neutrino masses and low scale leptogenesis with an introduction of singlet Majorana neutrino $S$ and singlet scalar $ϕ$. We now impose the discrete symmetry $Z_2 \times Z_2^{\prime}$ and introduce new renormalizable interaction terms with a new heavy singlet scalar particle $Φ$ so as for previously introduced $S$ and $ϕ$ to be doubly coexisting dark matter candidates. Depending on the mass spectrum of the two dark matter candidates, the annihilation process either $SS\longrightarrow ϕϕ$ or $ϕϕ\longrightarrow SS$ is of particular interest because the annihilation cross sections for the processes can be so large that the relic abundance of decaying particle should get lowered, which in turn makes the constraints on its parameter space relaxed, compared with the case of one and only one dark matter candidate. We discuss the implications of the dark matter detection through the scattering off the nucleus of the detecting material on our scenarios for dark matter candidates. We also study the implications for the search of invisible Higgs decay at LHC, which may serve as a probe of our scenario for dark matter.
CMS and ATLAS have searched for a doubly-charged boson $H^{\pm\pm}$ which may arise from type II seesaw in the 7 TeV run at the LHC by considering pair or associated production of doubly-charged bosons under the assumption of degenerate triplet scalars. In this work, we consider non-degenerate triplet components with the mass gap $ΔM \sim 1 - 40$ GeV which leads to enhanced pair-production cross-sections of $H^{\pm\pm}$ added by the gauge decays of the heavier neutral and singly-charged bosons. We reevaluate the constraints in the $ΔM-M_{H^{++}}$ plane depending on the triplet vacuum expectati…
The type II seesaw mechanism for neutrino mass generation usually makes use of one complex scalar triplet. The collider signature of the doubly-charged scalar, the most striking feature of this scenario, consists mostly in decays into same-sign dileptons or same-sign $W$ boson pairs. However, certain scenarios of neutrino mass generation, such as those imposing texture zeros by a symmetry mechanism, require at least two triplets in order to be consistent with type-II the seesaw mechanism. We develop a model with two such complex triplets and show that, in such a case, mixing between the triplet…
The dileptonic decays of doubly-charged Higgs bosons H^{\pm\pm} are investigated in the minimal type-II seesaw model with one Higgs triplet Δand one heavy Majorana neutrino N_1 at the TeV scale. We show that the branching ratios {\cal B}(H^{\pm\pm} \to l^\pm_αl^\pm_β) depend not only on the mass and mixing parameters of three light neutrinos ν_i (for i=1,2,3), but also on those of N_1. Assuming the mass of N_1 to lie in the range 200 GeV--1 TeV, we figure out the generous interference bands for the contributions of ν_i and N_1 to {\cal B}(H^{\pm\pm} \to l^\pm_αl^\pm_β): \sqrt{|\sinθ_{i4} \sinθ…
In type II seesaw model of neutrino mass generation, we study a remarkable signal of same-sign tetra-lepton (SS4L) signal at the Large hadron collider. When doubly charged Higgs is lightest, the heavier singly charged or neutral Higgs boson produces a doubly charged Higgs boson through its fast gauge decay. This leads to a novel signature of same-sign tetra-leptons resulting from a pair production of same-sign doubly charged Higgs bosons. We study production cross section for the SS4L signal in parameter space of the mass splitting among triplet components and the triplet vacuum expectation va…
We investigate multilepton signatures, arising from the decays of doubly charged and singly charged Higgs bosons in the Type-II Seesaw model. Depending on the vacuum expectation value of the triplet $v_Δ$, the doubly and singly charged Higgs bosons can decay into a large variety of multi-lepton final states. We explore all possible decay modes corresponding to different regimes of $v_Δ$, that generate distinguishing four and five leptonic signatures. We focus on the 13 TeV Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and further extend the study to a very high energy proton-proton collider (VLHC) with a center…

We analyze the sensitivity of low-energy fundamental symmetry tests to interactions mediated by doubly-charged scalars that arise in type-II seesaw models of neutrino mass and their left-right symmetric extensions. We focus on the next generation measurement of the parity-violating asymmetry in Møller scattering planned by the MOLLER collaboration at Jefferson Laboratory. We compare the MOLLER sensitivity to that of searches for charged lepton flavor violation (CLFV) and neutrinoless double beta-decay ($0νββ$-decay) as well as present and possible future high-energy collider probes. We show th…
Doubly charged Higgs bosons are very important in particle physics nowadays because they can give mass to neutrinos through seesaw mechanisms. In this work we present the results in the searching for doubly charged Higgs at the CERN LHC for a 3-3-1 model.
An extended seesaw model proposed to achieve low scale leptogenesis can resolve the excess positron and electron fluxes observed from PAMELA, ATIC and/or Fermi-LAT, and simultaneously accommodate some of recent experimental results for dark matter (DM) signals. In this approach, in addition to SU(2)_L doublet and the (light) singlet Higgs fields, an extra vector-like singlet neutrino and a singlet scalar field, which are coexisting two-particle dark matter candidates, are responsible for the origin of the excess positron and electron fluxes to resolve the PAMELA, ATIC and/or Fermi-LAT anomalie…
The type II seesaw mechanism introduces a hypercharged Higgs triplet to explain the observed neutrino masses and mixing. Among three triplet components, the doubly charged Higgs boson can be the lightest and decay mainly to same-sign di-leptons. Furthermore, the heavier singly charged or neutral Higgs boson produces a doubly charged Higgs boson through its fast gauge decay. This leads to a novel signature of same-sign tetra-leptons resulting from a pair production of same-sign doubly charged Higgs bosons caused by the nearly degenerate neutral scalar mixing which can be sizable for an appropri…
The type-II seesaw mechanism with an isospin-triplet scalar $Δ_L$ provides one of the most compelling explanations for the observed smallness of neutrino masses. The triplet contains a doubly-charged component $H_L^{\pm\pm}$, which dominantly decays to either same-sign dileptons or to a pair of $W$ bosons, depending on the size of the triplet vacuum expectation value. However, there exists a range of Yukawa couplings $f_L$ of the triplet to the charged leptons, wherein a relatively light $H_L^{\pm\pm}$ tends to be long-lived, giving rise to distinct displaced-vertex signatures at the high-ener…
We explore the discovery potential of doubly charged Higgs bosons (ξ^{\pm\pm}) at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). For moderate values of the coupling constants in the original Type-II seesaw model, these doubly-charged Higgs bosons are not accessible by any present or near future collider experiments. In a gauged B-L symmetric model we introduce two triplet scalars to execute a variant of type-II seesaw at the TeV scale. This leads to a clear like-sign dilepton signal in the decay mode of ξ^{\pm\pm} for a small vacuum expectation value (\lsim 10^5 \eV) of the triplet scalar ξ= (ξ^{++}, ξ…
A study of searching for doubly charged Higgs $(δ^{\pm\pm})$ is performed in two-Higgs-doublet extension of the type-II seesaw model. We find that a significant mixing effect between singly charged Higgs of Higgs doublet and of triplet is arisen from the scalar potential. The mixing leads to new production processes and decay patterns of doubly charged Higgs. With luminosity of 40 fb$^{-1}$ and collision energy of 13 TeV at the LHC, we show that $δ^{\pm\pm}$ with mass below $330$ GeV could be observed at the $5σ$ level. Moreover, for the luminosity of 300 fb$^{-1}$, the observed mass of $δ^{\p…
We propose a radiative seesaw model with an inert triplet scalar field in which Majorana neutrino masses are generated at the two loop level. There are fermionic or bosonic dark matter candidates in the model. We find that each candidate can satisfy the WMAP data when its mass is taken to be around the half of the mass of the standard model like Higgs boson. We also discuss phenomenology of the inert triplet scalar bosons, especially focusing on the doubly-charged scalar bosons at Large Hadron Collider in parameter regions constrained by the electroweak precision data and WMAP data. We study h…
In an earlier work, we showed that in very simple neutrino portal-like extensions of the Standard Model it is possible to achieve a one-to-one correspondence between dark matter physics and the seesaw parameters controlling the genesis of neutrino masses. Notably, this can occur both when the dark matter is produced via freeze-in and relativistic freeze-out. In this article, we carry out a detailed phenomenological study of such scenarios. Specifically, we find the allowed regions for the neutrino portal coupling within which the correspondence is valid. We further constrain the parameter spac…
In type II seesaw utilized to explain the observed neutrino masses and mixings, one extends the Standard Model (SM) by introducing scalar fields which transform as a triplet under the electroweak gauge symmetry. New scalar couplings involving the Higgs doublet then appear and, as we show, these have important implications for the Higgs boson mass bounds obtained using vacuum stability and perturbativity arguments. We identify, in particular, regions of the parameter space which permit the SM Higgs boson to be as light as 114.4 GeV, the LEP2 bound. The triplet scalars include doubly charged par…
We explore an intriguing possibility to test the type-II seesaw mechanism of neutrino mass generation at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We show that the lepton-number-violating signatures of heavy Majorana neutrinos N_i (for i=1, 2, 3) and doubly-charged Higgs bosons H^++(H^--) can be closely correlated with each other in a class of TeV-scale type-II seesaw models. Taking the minimal version of such models for example, we calculate the cross sections of pp -> l^+_αl^+_βX (l^-_αl^-_βX) processes mediated separately by N_1 and H^++(H^--), and illustrate their nontrivial correlation at the LHC.
We propose a new seesaw model based on fermionic hypercharge zero weak quintuplet in conjunction with additional scalar quadruplet which attains an induced vev. The model provides both tree-level seesaw ~ v^6/M^5 and a loop-suppressed radiative ~ (1 / 16 π^2) v^2/M contributions to active neutrino masses. The empirical masses m_ν~ 10^{-1} eV can be achieved with M ~ TeV new states, accessible at the LHC. For 5 fb^{-1} of accumulated integrated luminosity at the LHC, there could be ~ 500 doubly-charged Σ^{++} or \bar{Σ^{++}} fermions with mass M_Σ= 400 GeV, leading to interesting multi-lepton s…
We investigate the production and decays of doubly-charged Higgs bosons for the Type-II seesaw mechanism at an $e^{+} e^{-}$ collider with two center of mass energies, $\sqrt{s}=380$ GeV and 3 TeV, and analyze the fully hadronic final states in detail. Lower mass ranges can be probed during the 380 GeV run of the collider, while high mass ranges, which are beyond the 13 TeV Large Hadron Collider discovery reach, can be probed with $\sqrt{s}=3$ TeV. For such a heavy Higgs boson, the final decay products are collimated, resulting in fat-jets. We perform a substructure analysis to reduce the back…
We discuss a 331 model with three scalar triplets and neutral fermion singlets. We show that in the 331 model with right-handed neutrinos, it is possible to obtain small active neutrino masses via the double and inverse seesaw mechanisms, without the use of scalar sextets or triplets with doubly-charged Higgs. Two types of models are discussed. If we have a large Majorana mass matrix for the singlets, the spectrum of neutrinos presents light, heavy and very heavy masses. The other possibility is a small (zero) Majorana mass matrix, which leads to pseudo-Dirac (Dirac) heavy neutrinos in the TeV…
We present a novel way of testing the seesaw origin of neutrino mass in the context of the minimal Left-Right Symmetric Model. It is based on the connection between the leptonic interactions of the doubly charged scalars, whose presence is at the core of the seesaw mechanism, and the neutrino Dirac Yukawa couplings which govern, among other processes, the right-handed neutrino decays into left-handed charged leptons. We prove that any physical quantity depending on these couplings is a function of the hermitian part only which can significantly simplify their future experimental determination.
The type II seesaw model predicts the existence of a doubly charged Higgs boson ($H ^{\pm\pm}$), which can be produced through the Drell - Yan process and photon -- induced interactions at hadronic colliders. In recent years, such reactions have been largely investigated in inclusive processes, where both incident protons breakup and a large number of particles is produced in addition to the doubly charged Higgs pair. In this paper, we investigate, for the first time, the possibility of searching for $H ^{\pm\pm}$ in exclusive processes, which are characterized by two rapidity gaps and two int…
We explore a realistic supersymmetric SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R \times U(1)_B-L model spontaneously broken at around 10^12 GeV. The presence of D and F-flat directions gives rise to TeV mass doubly charged particles which can be found at the LHC. We implement TeV scale leptogenesis and employing both type I and II seesaw, the three light neutrinos are partially degenerate with masses in the 0.02-0.1 eV range. The effective mass parameter for neutrinoless double beta decay is 0.03-0.05 eV. We also find the interesting relation tan 2 θ_13 ~ [Δm^2_{\odot} / Δm^2_{atm}] [sin 2 θ_12 /tan 2 θ_23] <~ 0.…
We investigate a possibility for explaining the recently announced 750\,GeV diphoton excess by the ATLAS and the CMS experiments at the CERN LHC in a model with multiple doubly charged particles, which was originally suggested for explaining tiny neutrino masses through a three-loop effect in a natural way. The enhanced radiatively generated effective coupling of a new singlet scalar $S$ with diphoton with multiple charged particles in the loop enlarges the production rate of $S$ in $pp\to S+X$ via photon fusion process and also the decay width $Γ(S\to γγ)$ even without assuming a tree level p…
We present a simple scenario for gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking where the messengers are also the fields that generate neutrino masses. We show that the simplest such scenario corresponds to the case where neutrino masses are generated through the Type I and Type III seesaw mechanisms. The entire supersymmetric spectrum and Higgs masses are calculable from only four input parameters. Since the electroweak symmetry is broken through a doubly radiative mechanism, meaning a nearly zero B-term at the messenger scale which runs down to acceptable values, one obtains quite a constrained spect…
Using the most recent results of CMS and ATLAS, we study the Higgs decays to $γγ$ and $Zγ$ in the scenario where the two CP even Higgs predicted by the type II seesaw model (HTM) are close to mass degenerate with a mass near $125$ GeV. We analyse the effects of the Higgs potential parameters constrained by the full set of perturbative unitarity, boundedness from below (BFB) as well as from precision electroweak measurements on these decay modes. Our analysis demonstrates that the observed excess in the diphoton Higgs decay channel can be interpreted in our scenario within a delineated region c…
In the conventional type-(I+II) seesaw model, the effective mass matrix of three known light neutrinos is given by M_nu = M_L - M_D M^{-1}_R M^T_D in the leading-order approximation. We propose an intriguing scenario, in which the structural cancellation condition M_D M^{-1}_R M^T_D = 0 is guaranteed by the A_4 x Z_2 flavor symmetry. As a consequence, neutrino masses are mainly generated by the Higgs triplet M_nu = M_L, while the neutrino mixing matrix is non-unitary and takes on the nearly tri-bimaximal pattern. A discriminating feature of this scenario from the pure type-II seesaw model is t…
The DAMPE $e^+ e^-$ excess at around 1.4 TeV could be explained in the type-II seesaw model with a scalar dark mater $D$ which is stabilized by a discrete $Z_2$ symmetry. The simplest scenario is the annihilation $DD \to H^{++} H^{--}$ followed by the subsequent decay $H^{\pm\pm} \to e^\pm e^\pm$, with both the DM and triplet scalars roughly 3 TeV with a small mass splitting. In addition to the Drell-Yan process at future 100 TeV hadron colliders, the doubly-charged components could also be produced at lepton colliders like ILC and CLIC in the off-shell mode, and mediate lepton flavor violatin…
Motivated by searches for so-called leptonic scalars at the LHC and the recent measurement of the $W$ boson's mass at the Tevatron, we revisit the phenomenology of the Zee-Babu model for neutrino masses and the ability to differentiate it from the Type II Seesaw model at the LHC. We conclude that this task is much more difficult than previously believed. All inputs equal in the two scenarios, we find that total and differential rates for producing pairs of doubly and singly charged scalars are identical in shape and only differ in normalization. The normalization is given by the ratio of hadro…
We propose an extension of the standard model with a B-L global symmetry that is broken softly at the TeV scale. The neutrinos acquire masses through a type-II seesaw while the lepton (L) asymmetry arises in the {\it singlet sector} but without B-L violation. The model has the virtue that the scale of L-number violation ($Λ$) giving rise to neutrino masses is independent of the scale of leptogenesis ($Λ'$). As a result the model can explain {\it neutrino masses, singlet scalar dark matter and leptogenesis at the TeV scale}. The stability of the dark matter is ensured by a surviving $Z_2$ symme…
The Higgs Triplet Model (HTM) is one of important examples for extended Higgs sectors, because tiny neutrino masses can be simply explained. Unlike the canonical type-I seesaw model, a scale of new particles can be taken as $\mathcal{O}(100)$ GeV keeping an enough amount of production cross section for direct searches at collider experiments. In the HTM, there appear doubly-charged Higgs bosons $H^{\pm\pm}$, and detection of them is a key to probe the model. The decay property of $H^{\pm\pm}$ depends on the magnitude of the vacuum expectation value of the triplet field $v_Δ$. When $v_Δ$ is sma…
In a recent Letter we presented a systematic way of testing the seesaw origin of neutrino mass in the context of the Minimal Left-Right Symmetric Model. The essence of the program is to exploit lepton number violating decays of doubly charged scalars, particles which lie at the heart of the Higgs-mechanism-based seesaw, to probe the Dirac neutrino mass term which in turn enters directly into a number of physical processes including the decays of right-handed neutrinos into the $W$ boson and left-handed charged leptons. In this longer version we discuss at length these and related processes, an…
In an endeavor to explain the light neutrino masses and dark matter (DM) simultaneously, we study a gauged $U(1)_{\rm B-L}$ extension of the standard model (SM). The neutrino masses are generated through a variant of type-II seesaw mechanism in which one of the scalar triplets has a mass in a scale that is accessible at the present generation colliders. Three SM singlet right chiral fermions $χ_{iR}$($i=e,μ,τ$) with $\rm B-L$ charges -4, -4, +5 are invoked to cancel the $\rm B-L$ gauge anomalies and the lightest one among these three fermions becomes a viable DM candidate as their stability is…
It is shown that in extensions of the standard model of quarks and leptons where additive lepton number $L$ is broken by two units, so that $Z_2$ lepton parity, i.e. $(-1)^L$ which is either even or odd, remains exactly conserved, there is the possibility of stable dark matter without additional symmetry. This applies to many existing simple models of Majorana neutrino mass with dark matter, including some radiative models. Several well-known examples are discussed. This new insight leads to the construction of a radiative Type II seesaw model of neutrino mass with dark matter where the domina…
We point out how future lepton colliders can provide unique insight into the scalar sector of TeV scale models for neutrino masses with local $B-L$ symmetry. Our specific focus is on the TeV scale left-right model, which naturally embeds this $B-L$ symmetry. In particular, we make a detailed study of the lepton collider implications of the neutral ($H_3$) and doubly-charged ($H^{\pm\pm}$) scalars from the right-handed triplet Higgs that is responsible for the spontaneous breaking of the $B-L$ symmetry and implementing the seesaw mechanism. Due to mixing with other scalars, the neutral scalar $…
The inability to predict neutrino masses and the existence of the dark matter are two essential shortcomings of the Standard Model. The Higgs Triplet Model provides an elegant resolution of neutrino masses via the seesaw mechanism. We show here that introducing vectorlike leptons in the model also provides a resolution to the problem of dark matter. We investigate constraints, including the invisible decay width of the Higgs boson and the electroweak precision variables, and impose restrictions on model parameters. We analyze the effect of the relic density constraint on the mass and Yukawa co…
In this work we show that, by introducing two $SU(3)_{c}\times SU(2)_{L}$ singlet right handed fermions carrying opposite $U(1)_{Y}$ charges and while their left handed counterparts are singlet under $SU(3)_{c}\times SU(2)_{L}$ and neutral under $U(1)_{Y}$, in the regime where the new charged lepton masses are in the electroweak scale it will be able to explain the small neutrino masses via minimum-inverse seesaw scenario (MISS) as well as the reported $R(K^{(*)})$ and muon $(g-2)$ discrepancies. Also when the charged fermion masses are well above the electro weak scale the model can not expla…
