The CKM paradigm has been proven to be successful in explaining the flavour structure of the standard model and the non-trivial imaginary phase of the CKM matrix is the only know source of CP-violation. B-meson decays allow us to precisely determine the fundamental parameters of the CKM matrix and put stringent constraints on the models of New Physics. I present some of the most recent measurements related to the CKM Unitarity Triangle performed by the BaBar experiment, located at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Most results are based on the final BaBar dataset, consisting of 467 M B…

BaBar and Belle have recently revived the interest in charmonium spectroscopy, discovering many unexpected resonances. In this review, I'll focus mostly on the states found in B decays and double $\ccbar$. A better understanding of their production mechanism can help to discriminate among models, confirm tentative $J^{PC}$ assignments, and clarify the overall picture.
We present a short review on the recent progresses that have been made in meson spectroscopy. We discuss the experimental discoveries made at the BaBar and Belle experiments, as well as the possible interpretations of the new resonances.

Belle and BaBar experiments at the KEKB and PEP-II B-factories provide also an excellent environment for spectroscopy studies. In addition, recent measurements aimed to discover invisible final states produced by new physics mechanisms beyond the standard model are presented.
The principal goal of the B-factories is to test the CKM paradigm through measurements that overconstrain the shape of the so-called Unitarity Triangle. The sides of the triangle are evaluated through absolute values of several elements of the CKM matrix, so achieving high precision on these is an important aspect of the B-factory program. Recent results from Belle and Babar are presented.
I will review the latest developments in determining the CP-violating phases of the CKM matrix elements from measurements by the BaBar and BELLE experiments at the high-luminosity B factories (PEP-II and KEKB). The emphasis will be on the angle gamma/phi_3 of the Unitarity Triangle, which is the relative phase arg(-V_ud V_ub^*/V_cd V_cb^*), or the CP-violating phase of the b to u transition in the commonly used Wolfenstein convention.
The BELLE detector has already accumulated e^+ e^- collision data at the KEKB-collider corresponding to 600 fb^-1. BaBar has accumulated data of approximately 390 fb^-1 at PEP-II. Both are running on asymmetric energy e^+ e^- colliders at the Upsilon(4S) energy. The paper selects important results from both experiments with the emphasis on CP violation in B meson decays and its implications for the Unitarity Triangle.
Evidence from the \babar, Belle and CDF experiments for the phenomenon of \dzdzb\ oscillations is reviewed. A summary is made of the current understanding of the parameters defining the mixing of mass eigenstates that give rise to the oscillations. Results of searches for CP violation induced by mixing, are given, and estimates for the precision of measurements that can be expected in future experiments are made.
The Belle and Babar experiments have measured the branching fractions for B+ -> tau+ nu and Ds+ -> mu+ nu decays. From these measurements one can extract the B+ and Ds+ decay constants, which can be compared to lattice QCD calculations. For the Ds+ decay constant, there is currently a 2.1 sigma difference between the calculated value and the measured value.
We present a preliminary measurement of the branching fraction for B to rho e nu and of the CKM matrix element |Vub| using approximately 55 million B Bbar meson pairs collected with the BABAR detector. Using isospin relations for several modes we find BF(B0 to rho- e+ nu) = (3.39+-0.44+-0.52+-0.60)x10^(-4) and |Vub| = (3.69+-0.23+-0.27+0.40-0.59)x10^(-3). The quoted errors are statistical, systematic, and theoretical, respectively. These results are obtained by using five different form-factor calculations.
We report on preliminary measurements of time-dependent CP-violation asymmetries in charmless neutral B meson decays to K+K-K0 (including resonant decays phiK0 and f0K0), eta'K0, pi0K0s, K0sK0sK0s, K0sK0s, rho0K0s, omegaK0s. The results are obtained from a data sample of up to 347 million BBbar pairs produced by e+e- annihilation at the Y(4S) resonance collected with the BaBar detector at the PEP-2 asymmetric-energy B-meson Factory at SLAC.

The theoretical implications of these results will be considered.
We report recent results on $ϕ_3$ measurement at the Belle collaboration. The analyses reported here are based on a large data sample that contains 657 million $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance.
We report on measurements of branching fractions for several hadronic tau decays to final states with kaons, which can be used to determine the strange quark mass and the element |V_us| of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark-mixing matrix. The results are obtained from data collected with the BaBar and Belle detectors at the PEP-II and KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- colliders at SLAC and KEK, respectively, both operating at center-of-mass energies near the Y(4S) resonance.
The BABAR collaboration measurements of the B -> pipi, B -> rhopi and B -> rhorho decays are presented. New results, from a 113 fb-1 data sample, on the time-dependent CP asymmetries of the longitudinally polarized component of the B0 -> rho+rho- channel are S_{rhorho,long}=-0.19 +/- 0.33 +/- 0.11 and C_{rhorho,long}=-0.23 +/- 0.24 +/- 0.14. Constraints on the Unitarity Triangle angle alpha from the pipi and the rhorho systems are derived.
The Belle experiment has measured branching fractions and CP asymmetries for the charmless decays B0->pi+pi- and B0->rho+-pi-+. From these measurements, constraints upon the CKM angle phi_2 can be obtained. These constraints indicate that phi_2 is around 100 degrees.
We present recent measurements of the CKM angles alpha and gamma using data collected by the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. In addition to constraints on alpha from the decays B0 -> pi+ pi-, B0 -> rho+ pi- and B0 -> rho+ rho-, we also report the first measurement of time-dependent CP asymmetries in the decay B0 -> a1+(1260) pi-. We present measurements of gamma in B+ -> D(*)0 K+ decays using a Dalitz analysis in the modes D^0 -> Ks pi+ pi- and D^0 -> pi+ pi- pi0.
Spectroscopy results for Belle and BaBar are reported. A particular focus is put on new results of the X(3872) state with its radiative decays to $J$/$ψ$$γ$ and $ψ'$$γ$, its decay into $J$/$ψ$3$π$ and the search for production in radiative Upsilon decays. Another focus is $L$=2 mesons, in particlar a possible $D$-wave assignment to the X(3872) and the confirmation of an Upsilon $D$-wave state.
A brief review of experimental results on charmonium and charmonium-like hadron spectroscopy at B-factories is presented. A special focus is put on recent results of eta_c and eta_c(2S) study, X(3872) radiative decays, omega J/psi final state study and search for charmonium production in radiative Upsilon decays.
We present recent results of B and charm decays from the BaBar experiment. These results include searches for rare or forbidden charm decays, measurements of $|V_{ub}|$ from inclusive ${\bar B} \rightarrow X_u l {\bar ν} $ decays, observation of the semileptonic ${\bar B} \rightarrow D^{(*)} τ^- {\bar ν}_τ$ decays, direct CP violation asymmetry in $B \rightarrow X_{s+d} γ$ and in $D^+\rightarrow K^0_S π^+$, and T-violation in $D^+_{(s)} \rightarrow K^+ K^0_S π^+ π^-$. These studies are based on the final dataset collected by BaBar at the PEP-II B factory at SLAC in the period 1999-2008.
We overview recent measurements in B -> rho rho decays which are based on data samples collected at the PEP-II and KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- colliders with the BABAR and Belle detectors. Special emphasis is given to the determination of the CP-violating coefficients A and S from an analysis of B -> rho+ rho- decays. The values of A and S, branching fractions, and longitudinal polarization fractions of B -> rho rho decays are used to constrain the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa phase alpha/phi2 using an isospin analysis; the solution consistent with the standard model is 71 deg. < alpha < 113 deg.…
The Belle experiment, running at the KEKB e^+ e^- asymmetric energy collider during the first decade of the century, has recorded 770 fb^-1 of data at the Upsilon(4S) resonance. A combination of recent Belle results obtained with this sample is used to perform a measurement of the CKM angle gamma. We use B^+- -> DK^+- and B^+- -> D^*K^+- decays where the D meson decays into K_S^0pi+pi-, Kpi, KK, pipi, K_S^0 pi^0 and K_S^0 eta final states and D^* decays into Dpi^0 and Dgamma. Belle obtains the most precise gamma measurement to date, gamma = (68^{+15}_{-14}) degree.
We present measurements of time-dependent CP violation parameters in B0 --> K0 PI0, B0 --> Ks Pi+ Pi- and B0 --> Ks K+ K- decays. The latter two are extracted using time-dependent Dalitz plot analyses. These results are obtained from a large data sample that contains 657 x 10^6 BBbar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.
A summary of the results of several recent studies of charm mixing is presented. A number of different methods were used, including the measurement of lifetime ratios for final states of different CP, time dependence of wrong-sign hadronic decays, fits to time-dependent Dalitz plots, and searches for wrong-sign semi-leptonic decays. Taken together, they suggest mixing is of order 1%. The status of searches for indirect CP violation is also reported.
Recent results from BaBar and Belle experiments on $B \bar B$ mixing and $\sin 2ϕ_1$ are presented. Accuracy of $Δm_d$ measurements has reached 1.2%. Higher order effects within the Standard Model or possible new physics effect that might appear in the $B \bar B$ mixing through non-zero $ΔΓ/Γ$, CP violation, or $CPT$ violation have been explored. The BaBar and Belle results on $\sin 2ϕ_1$ from the $b \to c \bar{c} s$ modes are in good agreement with each other and a combined result with an accuracy of 8% is in good agreement with a global CKM fit. A simple average of the $\sin 2ϕ_1$ values tha…
After nine years of operation the BABAR experiment at the B factory PEPII (Standford Linear Accelerator Center) stopped data taking in April 2008. The last three month of data taking were devoted to e+e- collisions at center of mass energies of the Upsilon(2S), Upsilon(3S) and to an energy scan above the Upsilon(4S). Besides the observation of the bottomonium ground state eta_b, the center of mass energy dependent e+e- -> b bbar cross section was measured in the energy range from 10.54 to 11.20 GeV. BELLE observed an enhancement in the production cross section for e+e- -> Upsilon(nS) pi+ pi- -…
A combined fit is performed to the BaBar and Belle measurements of the $\EE \to ϕπ^+ π^-$ and $ϕ\fzero$ cross sections for center-of-mass energy between threshold and 3.0 GeV. The resonance parameters of the $ϕ(1680)$ and Y(2175) are determined. The mass is $(1681^{+10}_{-12})$ MeV/$c^2$ and the width is $(221^{+34}_{-24})$ MeV/$c^2$ for the $ϕ(1680)$, and the mass is $(2117^{+59}_{-49})$ MeV/$c^2$ and the width is $(164^{+69}_{-80})$ MeV/$c^2$ for the Y(2175). These information will shed light on the understanding of the nature of the excited $ϕ$ and $Y$ states observed in $\EE$ annihilation.
The precise measurement of the CKM angle $ϕ_3$ is important to further test the Standard Model description of $CP$ violation. The small values of the branching fractions of the decays involved in the measurement limits the precision, hence a larger dataset has to be accumulated to improve the precision. The Belle~II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider aims to collect 50~ab$^{-1}$ of data, a factor of 50 more than that of its predecessor Belle. The accelerator has been successfully commissioned in 2016 and the first physics collisions were recorded in April 2018. The…
A brief report of some recent experimental developments concerning the $X$, $Y$ and $Z$ charmoniumlike mesons states and other puzzling states from the BaBar, Belle, BESIII and CDF experiments is presented.
We present results of a new analysis campaign, which combines the final data samples collected by the B factory experiments BABAR and Belle in single physics analyses to achieve a unique sensitivity in time-dependent \CP\ violation measurements. The data samples contain $(471 \pm 3) \times 10^6 ~B \bar B$ pairs recorded by the BABAR detector and $(772 \pm 11) \times 10^6 ~ B \bar B$ pairs recorded by the Belle detector in $e^+e^-$ collisions at the center-of-mass energies corresponding to the mass of the $Υ(4S)$ resonance at the asymmetric-energy $B$ factories PEP-II at SLAC and KEKB at KEK, r…
The CKM angle $ ϕ_{3} $ is the only angle of the unitarity triangle that is accessible with tree-level decays in a theoretically clean way. The Belle II experiment is a substantial upgrade of the Belle detector and will operate at the SuperKEKB energy-asymmetric $ e^{+}e^{-} $ collider. The accelerator has already successfully completed the first phase of commissioning, with the first $ e^{+}e^{-} $ collisions recorded in 2018. The design luminosity of SuperKEKB is 8$ \times 10^{35}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$ and the Belle II experiment aims to record 50 ab$ ^{-1} $ of data, a factor of 50 more than t…
We present a review of recent results from BaBar experiment. BaBar detector has collected about 256 millions of $B\bar B$ events at PEP-II, the asymmetric $e^+e^-$ collider located at SLAC running at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance. We have studied CP violation in B mesons, observing the first evidence of direct CP violation in B meson decays and measured CP asymmetries relevant for the determination of the angles of the CKM Unitarity Triangle. BaBar physics program covers many other topics, including measurements of CKM matrix elements, charm physics, and search for new physics processes.
Recent results in the field of spectroscopy from the BABAR experiment are reported, with particular attention to the new states observed in ISR and $γγ$ interactions using the full BABAR data sample. We confirm the states Y(4260) and Y(4360) with higher precision and for the first time the state Y(4660) is observed. We do not confirm the Y(4008) state reported by Belle. In addition, the analysis of the invariant mass of the $J/ψω$ system produced in $γγ$ interactions is presented in confirmation of the Belle observation of the X(3915) in this process.
We report the recent measurements of $B^0\to J/ψπ^0$ and other CP violation modes based on the data collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB collider. The CP asymmetry parameters for the decay $B^0\to J/ψπ^0$ have previously been measured by BaBar and Belle experiments, but the results of mixing induced CP asymmetry $[S=-η_f\sin(2ϕ_1)]$ were not in good agreement with each other. Furthermore, the BaBar result lies outside the physically allowed region. Previous Belle measurements were based on $535\times10^6$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs. We updated the measurements using the final Belle data set of …
The BaBar experiment has discovered a narrow state, denoted as D*_{sJ}(2317)+, near 2.32 GeV/c^2 in the D+s pi^0 invariant mass distribution from inclusive $e^{+}e^{-}$ interactions at center-of-mass energies near 10.6 GeV. The same experiment has hinted the presence of a second new state near 2.46 GeV/c^2 in the D+_s pi^0 gamma mass spectrum. These discoveries have triggered CLEO and Belle experiments in their own search for new states coupled to D+_s meson. They have confirmed the existence of the D*_{sJ}(2317)^+ state and established the evidence for the second state denoted as D*_{sJ}(2458…
