Mini-review on Monte Carlo programs for Bhabha scattering

We review the status of Monte Carlo generators presently used for simulations of the large-angle Bhabha process at electron-positron colliders of moderately high energy (flavour factories), operating at centre-of-mass energies between about 1 GeV and 10 GeV. It is shown how the theoretical accuracy reached by present Bhabha programs for physics at flavour factories is at the level of 0.1% and, therefore, comparable with that reached about a decade ago for luminosity monitoring through small-angle Bhabha scattering at LEP.

Precision Calculation of Bhabha Scattering at LEP

For the small-angle Bhabha-scattering process, we consider the error budget for the calculation of the LEP/SLC luminosity in the Monte Carlo event generator BHLUMI 4.04, from the standpoint of new calculations of exact results for the respective O(alpha**2) photonic corrections in the context of the Yennie-Frautchi-Suura exponentiation. We find that an over-all precision tag for the currently available program BHLUMI 4.04 can be reduced from 0.11% to 0.061% at LEP1 and from 0.25% to 0.122% at LEP2. BHAGEN95: a Monte Carlo program for Bhabha scattering at LEP1/SLC and LEP2 energies

We present the Monte Carlo program BHAGEN95, for calculating the cross-section of the Bhabha scattering process at LEP1/SLC and LEP2 energies, usable with continuity from small to large-angle configurations. We discuss some improvements in the event generator BHAGEN94, which is now part of the new code. In particular the weak and QCD corrections are implemented up to two loops for the relevant contributions, and the emission of one hard photon is treated exactly. Large-Angle Bhabha Scattering at LEP 1

A critical assessment is given of the theoretical uncertainty in the predicted cross-sections for large-angle Bhabha scattering at LEP 1, with or without t-channel subtraction. To this end a detailed comparison is presented of the results obtained with the programs ALIBABA and TOPAZ0. Differences in the implementation of the radiative corrections and the effect of missing higher-order terms are critically discussed.

Realistic constraints on the doubly charged bilepton couplings from Bhabha scattering with LEP data

Upper limits on doubly charged bilepton couplings and masses are extracted from LEP data for Bhabha scattering at energy range $\sqrt{s}=183-202$ GeV using standard model program ZFITTER which calculates radiative corrections. We find that $g_{L}^{2}/M_{L}^{2}<O(10^{-5})GeV^{-2}$ at 95% C.L. for scalar and vector bileptons.

BHAGENE3, a Monte Carlo Event Generator for Lepton Pair Production and Wide Angle Bhabha Scattering in $e^{+} e^{-}$ Collisions Near the Z-Peak

A new Monte Carlo event generator for wide angle Bhabha scattering and muon pair production in $e^+e^-$ collisions is described. The program includes complete one-loop electroweak corrections, and QED radiative corrections. The O($α$) QED correction uses the exact matrix element. Higher order QED corrections are included in an improved soft photon approximation with exponentiation of initial state radiation. On Large-Angle Bhabha Scattering at LEP

The theoretical accuracy of the program TOPAZ0 in the large-angle Bhabha channel is estimated. The physical error associated with the full Bhabha cross section and its forward and backward components separately is given for some event selections and several energy points of interest for LEP1 physics, both for the $s$ and non-$s$ contributions to the cross section.

A fast and simple Monte Carlo program is presented that simulates single Bremsstrahlung in Bhabha scattering, e+e- --> e+e-gamma, without constraints on scattering angles. Grid porting of Bhabha scattering code through a master-worker scheme

A program calculating Bhabha scattering at high energy colliders is considered for porting to the EGEE Grid infrastructure. The program code, which is a result of the aITALC project, is ported by using a master-worker operating scheme. The job submission, execution and monitoring are implemented using the GridWay metascheduler. BHAGEN-1PH: A Monte Carlo event generator for radiative Bhabha scattering

BHAGEN-1PH is a FORTRAN program providing fast Monte Carlo event generation of the process $e^+ e^- \to e^+ e^- γ$, within electroweak theory, for both unpolarized beams and also for the longitudinally polarized electron beam. The program is designed for final leptons outside a small cone around the initial leptons direction and has a new algorithm allowing also for a fast generation of non collinear initial and final emission, as well as for asymmetric and different angular cuts for final leptons.

ZFITTER -- An Analytical Program for Fermion Pair Production in e+e- Annihilation

We describe how to use ZFITTER, a program based on a semi-analytical approach to fermion pair production in e+e- annihilation and Bhabha scattering. Monte-Carlo generator for e+e- annihilation into lepton and hadron pairs with precise radiative corrections

Recently, various cross sections of e+e- annihilation into hadrons were accurately measured in the energy range from 0.37 to 1.39 GeV with the CMD-2 detector at the VEPP-2M collider. Status and accuracy of the Monte Carlo generators for luminosity measurements

The status and accuracy of the precision Monte Carlo generators used for luminosity measurements at flavour factories is reviewed. It is shown that, thanks to a considerable, long-term effort in tuned comparisons between the predictions of independent programs, as well as in the validation of the generators against the presently available calculations of the next-to-next-to-leading order QED corrections to Bhabha scattering, the theoretical accuracy reached by the most precise tools is of about one per mille.
