We employ chaotic (phi^2 and phi^4) inflation to illustrate the important role radiative corrections can play during the inflationary phase. Yukawa interactions of phi, in particular, lead to corrections of the form -kappa phi^4 ln(phi/mu), where kappa>0 and mu is a renormalization scale. For instance, phi^4 chaotic inflation with radiative corrections looks compatible with the most recent WMAP (5 year) analysis, in sharp contrast to the tree level case. We obtain the 95% confidence limits 2.4x10^-14<~kappa<~5.7x10^-14, 0.931<~n_s<~0.958 and 0.038<~r<~0.205, where n_s and r respectively denote the scalar spectral index and scalar to tensor ratio. The limits for phi^2 inflation are kappa<~7.7x10^-15, 0.929<~n_s<~0.966 and 0.023<~r<~0.135. The next round of precision experiments should provide a more stringent test of realistic chaotic phi^2 and phi^4 inflation.
Constraints on Chaotic Inflation from the COBE DMR results
我们探讨了各种形式的有效潜力在通货膨胀的基础上,在宇宙微波背景温度和COBE DMR结果的通货膨胀产生的波动之间的统计比较的约束。利用混沌暴胀模型中有效势的简单解析形式,得到了对COBE 53 A +B × 90 A +B角关联函数的拟合.
We show that "spiralized" models of new-inflation can be experimentally identified mostly by their positive spectral running in direct contrast with most chaotic-inflation models which have negative runnings typically in the range of $\mathcal{O}(10^{-4}-10^{-3})$.
We consider chaotic inflation models with a pseudo-scalar field containing the general couplings to the four-form flux. The four-form mixing with the pseudo-scalar field induces a quadratic potential for inflaton while the coexisting four-form mixing with graviton generates a non-minimal gravity coupling for inflaton. The shift symmetry is respected by the derived inflaton couplings and it is broken spontaneously only by the fixed four-form flux. We discuss the success of inflationary predictions and robustness against higher order terms. Finally, the built-in reheating mechanism is also addre…
We consider a right-handed scalar neutrino as the inflaton which carries a gravitational coupling with a supersymmetric QCD sector responsible for breaking supersymmetry dynamically. The framework suggests an inflaton potential which is a deformed version of the quadratic chaotic inflation leading to a flatter potential. We find that this deformation results a sizable tensor to scalar ratio which falls within the allowed region by PLANCK 2015. At the same time supersymmetry breaking at the end of inflation can naturally be induced in this set-up. The symmetries required to construct the framew…
The issue of electroweak vacuum stability is studied in presence of a scalar field which participates in modifying the minimal chaotic inflation model. It is shown that the threshold effect on the Higgs quartic coupling originating from the Higgs-inflaton sector interaction can essentially make the electroweak vacuum stable upto the Planck scale. On the other hand we observe that the new physics parameters in this combined framework are enough to provide deviation from the minimal chaotic inflation predictions so as to keep it consistent with recent observation by Planck 2015.
We point out that the prediction of the minimal chaotic inflation model is altered if a scalar field takes a large field value close to the Planck scale during inflation due to a negative Hubble induced mass. In particular, we show that the inflaton potential is effectively suppressed at a large inflaton field value in the presence of such a scalar field. The scalar field may be identified with the standard model Higgs field or flat directions in supersymmetric theory. With such spontaneous suppression, we find that the minimal chaotic inflation model, especially the model with a quadratic pot…
In this paper we present a novel formulation of chaotic hybrid inflation in supergravity. The model includes a waterfall field which spontaneously breaks a gauged $U_1(B-L)$ at a GUT scale. This allows for the possibility of future model building which includes the standard formulation of baryogenesis via leptogenesis with the waterfall field decaying into right-handed neutrinos. We have not considered the following issues in this short paper, i.e. supersymmetry breaking, dark matter or the gravitino or moduli problems. Our focus is on showing the compatibility of the present model with Planck…
We calculate the baryon asymmetry value generated in the Scalar Field Condensate (SCF) baryogenesis model obtained in several inflationary scenarios and different reheating models. We provide analysis of the baryon asymmetry value obtained for more than 70 sets of parameters of the SCF model and the following inflationary scenarios, namely: new inflation, chaotic inflation, Starobinsky inflation, MSSM inflation, quintessential inflation. We considered both cases of efficient thermalization after inflation and also delayed thermalization. We have found that SFC baryogenesis model produces baryo…
