We investigate transverse electromagnetic waves propagating in a plasma in the de Sitter space. Using the 3+1 formalism we derive the relativistic two-fluid equations to take account of the effects due to the horizon and describe the set of simultaneous linear equations for the perturbations. We use a local approximation to investigate the one-dimensional radial propagation of Alfvén and high frequency electromagnetic waves and solve the dispersion relation for these waves numerically.
We investigate transverse electromagnetic waves propagating in a plasma influenced by the gravitational field of the Schwarzschild-de Sitter black hole. Applying 3+1 spacetime split we derive the relativistic two-fluid equations to take account of gravitational effects due to the event horizon and describe the set of simultaneous linear equations for the perturbations. We use a local approximation to investigate the one-dimensional radial propagation of Alfvén and high frequency electromagnetic waves. We derive the dispersion relation for these waves and solve it for the wave number $k$ numeri…
The transverse electromagnetic waves propagating in a relativistic two-fluid plasma influenced by the gravitational field of the Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter black hole has been investigated exploiting 3+1 split of spacetime. Reformulating the two-fluid equations, the set of simultaneous linear equations for the perturbations have been derived. Using a local approximation, the one-dimensional radial propagation of Alfvén and high frequency electromagnetic waves are investigated. The dispersion relation for these waves is obtained and solved numerically for the wave number.
In this manuscript, wave attributes of hot plasma around Reissner- Nordstrom-de Sitter (RN-dS) metric in a Veselago medium are in- vestigated. General relativistic magnetohydrodynamical (GRMHD) equations in planar coordinates for the RN-dS horizon are reformulated by implementation of ADM 3+1 technique. Further, perturba- tion scheme is used to arrive at linearly perturbed GRMHD equations whose component form is used to attain dispersion relations for rotating (non-magnetized and magnetized) plasma. Wave propagation in hot plasma is explained by three dimensional graphical representation of t…
We analyze the dispersion modes of hot plasma around Schwarzschild de-Sitter event horizon in the presence of Veselago medium. For this purpose, we apply ADM 3+1 formalism to develop GRMHD equations for the Schwarzschild de-Sitter spacetime. Implementation of linear perturbation yields perturbed GRMHD equations that are used for the Fourier analysis of rotating (non-magnetized and magnetized) plasma. Wave analysis is described by the graphical representation of the wave vector, refractive index, change in refractive index, phase and group velocities. The outcome of this work supports the valid…
The 3+1 formalism of Thorne and Macdonald has been used to derive the linear two-fluid equations for transverse waves in the plasma closed to the Schwarzschild-anti-de Sitter (SAdS) black hole. We reformulate the relativistic two-fluid equations to take account of gravitational effects due to the event horizon and negative cosmological constant and describe the set of simultaneous linear equations for the perturbations. Using a local approximation we investigate the one-dimensional radial propagation of Alfven and high frequency electromagnetic waves. We derive the dispersion relation for thes…
In this article we present results for tensor graviton modes (in seven dimensions and greater, $n\geq 3$) for greybody factors of Kerr-dS black holes and for Hawking radiation from simply rotating (n+4)-dimensional Kerr black holes. Although there is some subtlety with defining the Hawking temperature of a Kerr-dS black hole, we present some preliminary results for emissions assuming the standard Hawking normalization and a Bousso-Hawking-like normalization.
We solve perturbative constraints and eliminate gauge freedom for Ashtekar's gravity on de Sitter background. We show that the reduced phase space consists of transverse, traceless, symmetric fluctuations of the triad and of transverse, traceless, symmetric fluctuations of the connection. A part of gauge freedom corresponding to the conformal Killing vectors of the three-manifold can be fixed only by imposing conditions on Lagrange multiplier. The reduced phase space is equivalent to that of ADM gravity on the same background.
Gravitational waves (GW) propagating through a magnetised plasma excite low-frequency magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves. In this paper we investigate whether these waves can produce observable radio emission at higher frequencies by scattering on an an-isotropic intrinsically relativistic distribution of electrons and positrons in the force-free wind surrounding a double neutron star binary merger. The relativistic particle distribution is assumed to be strictly along the magnetic field lines, while the magneto-plasma streams out at a relativistic speed from the neutron stars. In the case of Com…
We show that asymptotically de Sitter black holes of negative mass can exist in Lovelock gravity. Such black holes have horizon geometries with non-constant curvature and are known as Exotic Black Holes. We explicitly examine the case of Gauss-Bonnet gravity. We briefly discuss the positive mass case where we show how the transverse space geometry affects whether a black hole will exist or not.For negative mass solutions we shown how three different black hole spacetimes are possible depending on the transverse space geometry. We also provide closed form expressions for the geometric parameter…
As an extension of our previous paper, instead of the total deflection angle $α$, we will mainly focus on discussing the measurable angle of the light ray $ψ$ at the position of the observer in Kerr--de Sitter spacetime which includes the cosmological constant $Λ$. We will investigate the contributions of the radial and transverse motions of the observer which are connected with the radial velocity $v^r$ and transverse velocity $bv^ϕ$ ($b$ is the impact parameter) as well as the spin parameter $a$ of the central object which induces the gravitomagnetic field or frame dragging and the cosmologi…
This article studies a numerical relativity approach to the initial value problem in Anti-de Sitter spacetime relevant for dual non-equilibrium evolution of strongly coupled non-Abelian plasma undergoing Bjorken expansion. In order to use initial conditions for the metric obtained in arXiv:0906.4423 we introduce new, ADM formalism-based scheme for numerical integration of Einstein's equations with negative cosmological constant. The key novel element of this approach is the choice of lapse function vanishing at fixed radial position, enabling, if needed, efficient horizon excision. Various phy…
The two-point function of linearized gravitons on de Sitter space is infrared divergent in the standard transverse traceless synchronous gauge defined by $k=0$ cosmological coordinates (also called conformal or Poincare coordinates). We show that this divergence can be removed by adding a linearized diffeomorphism to each mode function; i.e., by an explicit change of gauge. It follows that the graviton vacuum state is well-defined and de Sitter invariant in agreement with various earlier arguments.
Flat electrical charged black holes in 5-dimensional anti-de Sitter space have been applied to the study of the phase diagram of quark matter via AdS/CFT correspondence. In such application it is argued that since the temperature of the quark gluon plasma is bounded away from zero, the dual black hole cannot be arbitrarily cold, but becomes unstable due to stringy instability once it reaches sufficiently low temperature. We study the stringy stability of flat dilaton black holes with dilaton coupling $α=1$ in asymptotically anti-de Sitter space and show that unlike the purely electrically char…
Exact solutions of the self-consistent relativistic magnetohydrodynamics equations for an anisotropic magnetized plasma on the background of Bondi-Pirani-Robinson's vacuum plane gravitational wave (PGW) metric with an arbitrary polarization are obtained, which generalize the results obtained earlier by one of the authors for the transverse polarization of a gravitational wave. Based on the reformulated energobalance equation it is shown that in the linear approximation by gravitational wave amplitude only the transverse polarization of PGW interacts with magnetized plasma.
We propose a consistent setup for the holographic dual of the strongly coupled large-Nc N=4 super Yang-Mills theory plasma which undergoes the Bjorken flow relevant to the quark-gluon plasma at BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and CERN LHC. The dual geometry is constructed order by order in a well-defined late-time expansion. The transport coefficients are determined by the regularity of the geometry. We prove, for the first time, that the dual geometry has an apparent horizon hence an event horizon, which covers a singularity at the origin. Further we prove that the dual geometry is regula…
Using Killing-Yano symmetries, we construct conserved charges of spacetimes that asymptotically approach to the flat or Anti-de Sitter spaces only in certain directions. In D dimensions, this allows one to define gravitational charges (such as mass and angular momenta densities) of p-dimensional branes/solitons or any other extended objects that curve the transverse space into an asymptotically flat or AdS one. Our construction answers the question of what kind of charges the antisymmetric Killing-Yano tensors lead to.
Motivated by the Strong Cosmic Censorship Conjecture, in the presence of a cosmological constant, we consider solutions of the scalar wave equation $\Box_gϕ=0$ on fixed subextremal Reissner--Nordström--de Sitter backgrounds $({\mathcal M}, g)$, without imposing symmetry assumptions on $ϕ$. We provide a sufficient condition, in terms of surface gravities and a parameter for an exponential decaying Price law, for a local energy of the waves to remain bounded up to the Cauchy horizon. The energy we consider controls, in particular, regular transverse derivatives at the Cauchy horizon; this allows…
