Groupoid representations and modules over the convolution algebras

The classical Serre-Swan's theorem defines a bijective correspondence between vector bundles and finitely generated projective modules over the algebra of continuous functions on some compact Hausdorff topological space. We extend these results to obtain a correspondence between the category of representations of an etale Lie groupoid and the category of modules over its convolution algebra that are of finite type and of constant rank. Both of these constructions are functorially defined on the Morita bicategory of etale Lie groupoids and the given correspondence represents a natural equivalence between them.

Lie Groupoid Deformations and Convolution Algebras

We define a morphism from the deformation complex of a Lie groupoid to the Hochschild complex of its convolution algebra, and show that it maps the class of a geometric deformation to the algebraic class of the induced deformation in Hochschild cohomology. Applied to the adiabatic groupoid, we show that the van Est map to deformation cohomology of Lie algebroids is induced by taking the classical limit of a quantization map on the dual of the Lie algebroid.

On the Hochschild homology of convolution algebras of proper Lie groupoids

We study the Hochschild homology of the convolution algebra of a proper Lie groupoid by introducing a convolution sheaf over the space of orbits. We develop a localization result for the associated Hochschild homology sheaf, and prove that the Hochschild homology sheaf at each stalk is quasi-isomorphic to the stalk at the origin of the Hochschild homology of the convolution algebra of its linearization, which is the transformation groupoid of a linear action of a compact isotropy group on a vector space. A Schwartz type algebra for the Tangent Groupoid

We construct an algebra of smooth functions over the tangent groupoid associated to any Lie groupoid. This algebra is a field of algebras over the closed interval [0, 1] which fiber at zero is the algebra of Schwartz functions over the Lie algebroid, whereas any fiber out of zero is the convolution algebra of the initial groupoid. Foliation groupoids and their cyclic homology

In this paper we study the Lie groupoids which appear in foliation theory. A foliation groupoid is a Lie groupoid which integrates a foliation, or, equivalently, whose anchor map is injective. The first theorem shows that, for a Lie groupoid G, the following are equivalent: - G is a foliation groupoid, - G has discrete isotropy groups, - G is Morita equivalent to an etale groupoid. The stabilization theorem for proper groupoids

The stabilization theorem for $A$-Hilbert modules was established by G. G. Kasparov. The equivariant version, in which a locally compact group $H$ acts properly on a locally compact space $Y$, was proved by N. C. Phillips. This equivariant theorem involves the Hilbert $(H,C_{0}(Y))$-module $C_{0}(Y,L^{2}(H)^{\infty})$. It can naturally be interpreted in terms of a stabilization theorem for proper groupoids, and the paper establishes this theorem within the general proper groupoid context. The theorem has applications in equivariant KK-theory and groupoid index theory.

Homology of formal deformations of proper etale Lie groupoids

In this article, the cyclic homology theory of formal deformation quantizations of the convolution algebra associated to a proper etale Lie groupoid is studied. We compute the Hochschild cohomology of the convolution algebra and express it in terms of alternating multi-vector fields on the associated inertia groupoid. Cyclic cocycles on twisted convolution algebras

We give a construction of cyclic cocycles on convolution algebras twisted by gerbes over discrete translation groupoids. For proper étale groupoids, Tu and Xu provide a map between the periodic cyclic cohomology of a gerbe-twisted convolution algebra and twisted cohomology groups which is similar to a construction of Mathai and Stevenson. A Homology Theory for Etale Groupoids

Etale groupoids arise naturally as models for leaf spaces of foliations, for orbifolds, and for orbit spaces of discrete group actions. In this paper we introduce a sheaf homology theory for etale groupoids. We prove its invariance under Morita equivalence, as well as Verdier duality between Haefliger cohomology and this homology. We also discuss the relation to the cyclic and Hochschild homologies of Connes' convolution algebra of the groupoid, and derive some spectral sequences which serve as a tool for the computation of these homologies.

Compactly supported analytic indices for Lie groupoids

For any Lie groupoid we construct an analytic index morphism taking values in a modified $K-theory$ group which involves the convolution algebra of compactly supported smooth functions over the groupoid. Graded Steinberg algebras and their representations

We study the category of left unital graded modules over the Steinberg algebra of a graded ample Hausdorff groupoid. In the first part of the paper, we show that this category is isomorphic to the category of unital left modules over the Steinberg algebra of the skew-product groupoid arising from the grading. On finitely summable Fredholm modules from Smale spaces

We prove that all K-homology classes of the stable (and unstable) Ruelle algebra of a Smale space have explicit Fredholm module representatives that are finitely summable on the same smooth subalgebra and with the same degree of summability. The smooth subalgebra is induced by a metric on the underlying Smale space groupoid and fine transversality relations between stable and unstable sets. We pursue the study of local index theory for operators of Fourier-integral type associated to non-proper and non-isometric actions of Lie groupoids, initiated in a previous work. Pseudodifferential Calculus, Twisted gerbes and twisted index theory for Lie groupoids

The goal of this paper is to construct a calculus whose higher indices are naturally elements in the twisted K-theory groups for Lie groupoids.
