These proceedings summarize the sensitivity for the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC to discover a Standard Model Higgs boson with relatively low integrated luminosity per experiment. A brief discussion on the expected performance from these experiments in searches for one or more of the Higgs bosons from the minimal version of the supersymmetric theories is also included.
Searches for this Higgs boson are reaching an exciting time. This proceeding reports the progress on Standard Model Higgs boson searches at the Tevatron and the prospects for Higgs boson searches at the Large Hadron Collider. Also reported are the results of non Standard Model searches and prospects at the Tevatron, Large Hadron Collide and B factories. Included in this result are the first limits on the mass of the Standard Model Higgs boson at high masses beyond the kinematic reach of the Large Electron Positron collider.
We present an overview of the full range of Higgs searches in models beyond the Standard Model at the Tevatron. This includes both searches for Fermiophobic Higgs and for SUSY Higgs at high tan beta. No excess is seen in the data, so model dependent limits are set.
The four LEP experiments ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL have performed decay-mode independent searches for scalar bosons, flavour-independent Higgs boson searches, searches for Higgs bosons in the Standard Model and several Two-Higgs-Doublet models and searches for doubly charged Higgs bosons at centre-of-mass energies up to 209 GeV. The results obtained and mostly combined by the LEP Higgs working group are discussed.
Recent LEP searches for Higgs bosons in models other than the Minimal Standard Model and the Minimal Supersymetric Standard Model are reviewed. Limits are presented for Higgs bosons decaying into diphotons or invisible particles, and for charged Higgs bosons.
We present the non-standard model Higgs boson searches at both DO and CDF experiments. We concentrate on three topics, reported by DO and CDF recently: the searches for the minimal supersymmetric Higgs boson using pp--> hbb --> bbbb and pp --> hX --> tau tau X, and for long-lived doubly charged Higgs boson.
SM and MSSM Higgs Searches at the proton anti-proton collider Tevatron in Run II are presented. The performance of the collider and the two experiments D0 and CDF is shown. No deviation from SM background expectation and no MSSM Higgs signal has been observed.
HIGGS and SUSY searches performed by the ALEPH Experiment at LEP are interpreted in the framework of two constrained R-parity conserving models: Minimal Supergravity and minimal Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking.
The results of the Higgs boson searches performed by the four LEP experiments at centre-of-mass energies between 189 GeV and 209 GeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2461 pb$^{-1}$ are presented here. Searches have been performed for Higgs in the Standard Model (SM), in 2 Higgs Doublet Models (2HDM's), for doubly charged, fermiophobic and invisible Higgs as well as a decay mode independent search. Most of the results of the four experiments have been combined by the LEP Higgs working group.
We summarize the status of SM Higgs boson searches at the Fermilab Tevatron performed by the CDF and DØcollaborations, with an emphasis on measurements at large Higgs mass, and derive sensitivity prospects for the upcoming increase in integrated luminosity.
This paper explores the physics reach of the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) for searches of new particles decaying to two jets. We discuss inclusive searches in dijets and b-jets, as well as searches in semi-inclusive events by requiring an additional lepton that increases sensitivity to different aspects of the underlying processes. We discuss the expected exclusion limits for generic models predicting new massive particles that result in resonant structures in the dijet mass. Prospects of the Higher-Energy LHC (HE-LHC) collider are also discussed. The study is based on the Py…
Results are summarized from searches for the standard model Higgs boson in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 and 8 TeV in the CMS experiment at the LHC. The measurements of mass, cross section, and properties of the narrow resonance recently observed are presented. The searches beyond standard model Higgs boson, in the CMS experiment at the LHC, are highlighted.
One of the highest priority physics goals for the upgraded Tevatron experiments, CDF and D0, is the search for the Higgs boson. We present the initial results from both experiments, based on 40--90 pb$^{-1}$ integrated luminosity, of Higgs searches in several final states, including $WH$ and $ZH$, $H\to WW$, and doubly-charged Higgs.
This report presents recent results from studies of Beyond the Standard Model physics at the LHC. A focus is placed on heavy gauge bosons, electroweak symmetry breaking and left-right symmetry.
In the following, we describe preliminary results of searches for non-SM higgs bosons at the CDF and D0 experiments. Both experiments use data obtained in pp-bar collisions at the Tevatron at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV.
Searches for exotic decays of the 125 GeV Higgs boson performed with data collected by the CMS experiment are presented. Three classes of searches are detailed: searches for invisible decays of the Higgs boson, searches for lepton flavor violating Higgs decays, and searches for decays to the Higgs boson to light pseudoscalars decaying to SM particle pairs. These analyses are based on data collected at center-of-mass energies of 8 and 13 TeV.
Extensive searches for new phenomena have been performed at LEP. The principal aspects and results of those not related to Higgs bosons are reviewed here.
This paper describes the searches for the Higgs boson performed by the CDF and D0 collaborations at the Tevatron ppbar Collider using the data collected in the 1992-95 run. Searches for standard model Higgs and as well for neutral and charged minimal SUSY Higgs bosons are also presented. No signal has been observed and limits are set for production cross sections.
A summary of the sensitivity of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC to discover a Standard Model Higgs boson is presented. Some prospects for Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model Higgs searches at LHC are also included.
Results are presented for beyond the Standard Model Higgs boson searches using up to 8.2 invfb of data from Run II at the Tevatron. No significant excess is observed in any of the channels so 95% confidence level limits are presented.
We summarize the status of Higgs boson searches at the upgraded Fermilab Tevatron performed by the DO and CDF collaborations. We report on three categories of searches, namely 1) the search for the Standard Model Higgs boson (p\bar{p} --> H, WH or ZH, with H --> WW* and/or H --> b\bar{b}), 2) the search for the minimal supersymmetric Higgs boson using p\bar{p} --> hb\bar{b} --> b\bar{b}b\bar{b} and p\bar{p} --> hX --> tau tau X, 3) the search for doubly charged Higgs boson.
Since no Standard Model Higgs boson was discovered at LEP the searches were extended to beyond the Standard Model Higgs scenarios. A selection of final results from searches carried out by the four LEP experiments ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL are presented that include data taken at the highest centre-of-mass energies.
Supersymmetry will be searched for in a variety of final states at the LHC. It is crucial that a robust, efficient and unbiased trigger selection for SUSY is implemented from the very early days of data taking. After a brief description of the ATLAS and the CMS trigger systems, and a more in-depth discussion of the ATLAS High-Level Trigger, a triggering strategy is outlined for early SUSY searches at the LHC.
Results are presented for beyond the Standard Model Higgs boson searches using up to 4.2 fb-1 of data from Run II at the Tevatron. No significant excess is observed in any of the channels so 95% confidence level limits are presented.
Searches for supersymmetry (SUSY) are very important tasks at the Large Hadron colleder(LHC). If SUSY exists at the TeV scale, clear excess above the Standard Model (SM) background will be observed. SM background should be estimated from real data self. In this paper, we descrive the strategy for the early SUSY searches at the LHC and focus on the data-driven estimation of the SM background in the early stage of collision.
The most recent results for searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 7 TeV using 4.9/fb of data collected with the ATLAS detector at CERNs Large Hadron Collider are presented.
The D0 and CDF experiments at the proton-antiproton collider Tevatron have extensively searched for the Higgs boson and signals of supersymmetry using a wide range of signatures. The status of these searches is reviewed with a focus on recent measurements.
The search for the Higgs boson, both in the context of the standard model and extensions to it, has been a key focus during Run II of the Tevatron. I report on the status of these searches, which are highlighted by evidence at the 3 standard deviation level for the SM Higgs in its $b\bar{b}$ decay mode, the strongest direct evidence to date for fermionic couplings of the Higgs boson.
An overview on the prospects for Higgs Boson searches with the CMS detector is presented. Projections have been made to estimate the potential to a possible discovery or exclusion of the Higgs Boson during the run at a center of mass energy of 7 TeV at the LHC, with a recorded integrated luminosity of approximately 1 fb-1, conditions expected by the end of 2011
The rapidly increasing integrated luminosity collected by the CDF and D0 detectors at the Tevatron Collider has resulted in a wealth of new results from searches for Higgs bosons in the extensions of the Standard Model. Tighter limits are set on the parameters governing the Higgs sector in these models.
Discovered in 2012, the Higgs boson has opened a new window on nature. The latest searches for its rare and non-Standard Model decays with the ATLAS detector at the LHC are presented. They represent a promising probe of the 1st and 2nd generation Yukawa couplings, and of new physics. Searches for rare exclusive decays of the Higgs boson to a meson and a photon are presented. Also presented are four searches for decays of the Higgs boson to pairs of beyond the Standard Model resonances, in various final states.
Searches for rare and exotic Higgs decays using proton-proton collision data with the center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV and 13 TeV collected with the ATLAS detector are presented. Various final states are considered. No significant deviations from the Standard Model expectations are found. The results are interpreted in different Beyond Standard Model theories.
We present the latest searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson at a centre-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider.
The CDF and DØ experiments at the Tevatron are currently the only capable of searching for the Standard Model Higgs boson. This article describes their most sensitive searches in the expected Higgs mass range, focusing on advanced methods used to extract the maximal sensitivity from the data. CDF presents newly updated results for $H \to W^+W^-$ and $ZH \to l^+l^- b\bar{b}$. DØ\ presents two new searches for $WH \to lνb\bar{b}$. These new analyses use the same 1 fb$^{-1}$ dataset as previous searches, but with improved techniques resulting in markedly improved sensitivity.
In this paper we report on the legacy of Higgs boson searches at LEP. Specifically, the results of the statistical combination of the searches carried out by the ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL experiments are presented. In the search for the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson, a signal with mh<114.4 GeV/c^2 has been excluded at the 95% confidence level (CL) or higher. The LEP collaborations also carried out extensive searches for Higgs particles predicted by many scenarios beyond the Standard Model. Here we can only report on a very small fraction of these searches and refer the reader to the complet…
Searches for the neutral Higgs bosons h0 and A0, are used to obtain limits on the Type II Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM(II)) with no CP-violation in the Higgs sector and no additional particles besides the five Higgs bosons. The analysis combines approximately 170 pb-1 of data collected with the OPAL detector at sqrt{s} ~ 189 GeV with previous runs at sqrt{s} ~ mZ and sqrt{s} ~ 183 GeV. The searches are sensitive to the h0, A0 -> qq, gg, tau+tau- and h0 -> A0A0 decay modes of the Higgs bosons. For the first time, the 2HDM(II) parameter space is explored in a detailed scan, and new flavour inde…
Recent results on searches for Beyond Standard Model production of Higgs bosons in fermion decay channels are presented. The analyses are based on proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMS experiment at 7, 8, and 13 TeV centre-of-mass energies. The exclusion limits determined by the null results of the searches are interpreted in the framework of models that include extensions of the standard Higgs sector.
We report on results obtained at the Tevatron by the CDF and D0 collaborations up to June 2008 (2.4 fb-1), on searches for standard model (SM) Higgs bosons having a high mass (135-200 GeV). High mass Higgs bosons decay dominantly in WW and the presented searches are performed in the leptonic decay modes of the W's. Both direct production (ppbar -> H) and associated production (ppbar -> WH) are studied and eventually combined with all channels available at the Tevatron. Prospects for SM Higgs searches with the full projected Tevatron statistics are also given.
Supersymmetric particles that are long-lived or violate R-parity could evade many conventional searches for supersymmetry. This talk presents the latest results of searches for supersymmetry with long-lived particles or R-parity violation performed by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations using $\sim$20 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV delivered by the LHC.
In the following, the prospects for measuring the SM Higgs properties at the LHC are reviewed, in particular its mass, width, spin, CP eigenstates as well as its couplings to the SM fermions and gauge bosons. The possibility of performing the difficult trilinear Higgs self-coupling measurement is also discussed.
We present combined CDF and D0 searches for the Standard Model (SM) and Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) Higgs boson using up to 6.7 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity from 1.96 TeV proton-antiproton collisions at the Tevatron. Specialized searches for Higgs bosons produced via gluon fusion, associated boson production, and vector boson fusion, decaying to $b\bar{b}$, $W^{+}W^{-}$, $τ^{+}τ^{-}$, and $γγ$ are combined to produce 95\% CL upper limits on SM Higgs production as a function of mass. Current Tevatron limits are shown, including a new exclusion for SM Higgs masses between …
We present results for various searches for signatures of standard and non-standard model Higgs boson decays conducted at the collider detectors CDF and DO using ~ 100 pb^-1 of integrated luminosity each from the Tevatron Collider Run 1 (1992-96) at \sqrt{s} = 1.8 TeV. No evidence for a Higgs boson decay is found and various limits are set.
While approaching the start of the data taking at the LHC, ATLAS and CMS perform studies involving the Higgs boson within non-minimal models besides Supersymmetric models. Highlights from both experiments are summarized; all results refer to LHC low luminosity conditions of 10^33 cm^-2 s^-1.
The interaction of the Higgs boson to fermion is most fragile part in the Standard model. The Higgs decay to ditau ($H\rightarrow ττ$) was observed and established in the LHC Run 1 data. This report presents recent measurements and searches of Higgs boson decay to two fermions. In particular this report focuses on results of the Higgs b oson decays to third-generation ($H\rightarrow b\bar{b}$) and second-generation ($H\rightarrow c\bar{c}$, $H\rightarrow μμ$) fermions using the LHC Run 2 data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC.
We present a method to measure dominant Standard Model backgrounds using data containing high rapidity objects in pp collisions at the Large Hadron Collider. The method is developed for analyses of early LHC data when robustness against imperfections of background modeling and detector simulation can be a key to the discovery of new physics at LHC.
In this paper, we present the latest results of the searches for beyond standard model Higgs boson production at the Tevatron collider of Fermilab. Analyses have been carried out on samples of about 1-4 inverse fb of data collected by the CDF and D0 detectors. In particular, Higgs bosons in supersymmetric models and fermiophobic scenario have been investigated, and limits on production cross sections and theory parameters have been established.
Search for non-Standard-Model Higgs bosons is one of the major goals of the ongoing Fermilab Tevatron run. Large data sets accumulated by the CDF and D0 experiments break new grounds in sensitivity. We review recent Tevatron results on searches for Higgs bosons in Minimal Supersymmetric Model in the multi b-jet and tau-tau final states, as well as a search for fermiophobic Higgs in the multiphoton final state.
A very simple and transparent way for the mass definition of a new boson, probably Higgs (H), observed at LHC, decaying into 4 leptons, is presented. The obtained mass of H is 125.5+/-0.4 GeV with today statistics.
We present the latest CDF searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson with 1.96 TeV center-of-mass energy collisions produced at the Fermilab Tevatron. The data was collected with the CDF II detector at the Tevatron collider and correspond to an integrated luminosity from 2 to 4.8 1/fb. To achieve maximal sensitivity, many channels are analyzed including final states from gluon fusion, vector boson fusion, and associated production with W and Z bosons.
We report on searches for the standard model Higgs boson with the CDF and D0 detectors using up to 2.7 fb$^{-1}$ of $\sqrt s=$ 1.96 TeV proton anti-proton collisions at Fermilab's Tevatron. We focus on analyses that are sensitive to low mass Higgs production with $m_H<$ 140 GeV/$c^2$ favored by precision electroweak constraints. Both CDF and D0 find no evidence for Higgs boson production, and set upper limits on cross section times branching ratio. Several analyses improvements have increased the sensitivity to a Higgs signal faster than what is expected from increasing datasets alone.
We present the recent prospects and strategies of the ATLAS and CMS experiments in the search for signatures of Supersymmetry. The emphasis is placed on standard signatures with missing transverse energy and on the initial data taking periods.
The Standard Model of particle physics has a number of asymmetries suggestive of a more fundamental theory, where the symmetries are restored. If the symmetry breaking scale is the electroweak scale, new Higgs bosons beyond that of the Standard Model could be observed at the Tevatron. Recent Tevatron searches have set the most stringent limits on new Higgs bosons in a variety of models.
We present the status of the Standard Model Higgs boson searches in final states containing τ leptons using data collected from p-pbar collisions at Fermilab Tevatron collider at center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. A summary of the latest results from CDF and D0 collaborations is reported in this paper.
We review the status of the searches for the Higgs boson in the context of the Standard Model and the Minimal SuperSymmetric Standard Model by the CDF and DO experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron proton-antiproton collider, using up to $2.4 \rm{fb}^{-1}$ of Run II data. Since no evidence of signal above the expected background is observed in any of the various final states examined, limits at 95% confidence level are presented.
We present the results of searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson decaying predominantly to WW pairs, at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV, using up to 8.2 fb^{-1} of data collected with the CDF and D0 detectors at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The analysis techniques and the various channels considered are discussed. These searches result in exclusions across the Higgs mass range of 156.5<mH<173.7 GeV for CDF and 161<mH<170 GeV for D0.
An overview of the searches for the Standard Model Higgs boson at the LHC is presented. The main Higgs production and decay modes that have been studied are introduced, and the analysis techniques and the recent developments done by the ATLAS and CMS experiments are described. Some preliminary results from current studies are included. The discovery potential within the first few years of physics running is evaluated.
Selected results of searches for neutral long-lived particles with displaced and delayed jets, trackless jets and emerging jets, as well as displaced muons, obtained with data recorded at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations during LHC's Run 2 are presented, as well as challenges and techniques.
