We investigate the effects of the accretion of phantom energy with non-zero bulk viscosity onto a Morris-Thorne wormhole. We have found that if the bulk viscosity is large then the mass of wormhole increases rapidly as compared to small or zero bulk viscosity.
We study the static and spherically symmetric wormhole spacetime configurations at present time in a viscous universe. Considering three classes of viscous models, i.e., bulk viscosity as a function of Hubble constant $H_0$, present cosmic temperature $T_0$ and dark energy density $ρ_0$, respectively, we obtain several wormhole solutions. Through the analysis for the anisotropic solutions, we conclude that, to some extent, these three classes of viscous models have very high degeneracy with each other, and deviate slightly from the ideal fluid consequence. Subsequently, without the loss of gen…
We study the classical and quantum wormholes for a flat {\it Euclidean} Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric with a perfect fluid including an ordinary matter source plus a source playing the role of dark energy (decaying cosmological term). It is shown that classical wormholes exist for this model and the quantum version of such wormholes are consistent with the Hawking-Page conjecture for quantum wormholes as solutions of the Wheeler-DeWitt equation.
We construct an explicit class of dynamic lorentzian wormholes connecting Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) spacetimes. These wormholes can allow two-way transmission of signals between spatially separated regions of spacetime and could permit such regions to come into thermal contact. The cosmology of a network of early Universe wormholes is discussed.
We shortly outline the principal results concerning the reparametrization-invariant world-volume Lagrangian formulation of lightlike brane dynamics and its impact as a source for gravity and (nonlinear) electromagnetism in black hole and wormhole physics.
A multidimensional cosmological model with space-time consisting of n (n>1) Einstein spaces M_i is investigated in the presence of a cosmological constant Lambda and m homogeneous minimally coupled scalar fields as a matter source. Classes of the models integrable at classical as well as quantum levels are found. These classes are equivalent to each other. Quantum wormhole solutions are obtained for them and the procedure of the third quantization is performed. An inflationary universe arising from classically forbidden Euclidean region is investigated for a model with a cosmological constant.
We show that if the space of physical states spanned by the wormhole wave functions can be equipped with a Hilbert structure, such a Hilbert space must coincide with that of the Lorentzian gravitational system under consideration. The physical inner product can then be determined by imposing a set of Lorentzian reality conditions. The Hilbert space of the gravitational model admits in this case a basis of wormhole solutions, and every proper quantum state can be interpreted as a superposition of wormholes. We also argue that the wave functions that form the basis of wormholes must be eigenfunc…
We review the anomaly induced effective action for dilaton coupled spinors and scalars in large N and s-wave approximation. It may be applied to study the following fundamental problems: construction of quantum corrected black holes (BHs), inducing of primordial wormholes in the early Universe (this effect is confirmed) and the solution of initial singularity problem. The recently discovered anti-evaporation of multiple horizon BHs is discussed. The existance of such primordial BHs may be interpreted as SUSY manifestation. Quantum corrections to BHs thermodynamics maybe also discussed within s…
Recently we solved the Einstein's field equations to obtain the exact solution of the cosmological model with the Morris-Thorne type wormhole. We found the apparent horizons and analyzed their geometric natures, including the causal tructures. We also derived the Hawking temperature near the apparent cosmological horizon with a proper definition of the Kodama vector. In this paper, we investigate the dynamic properties of the apparent horizons according to the distribution of cosmic matter. The matter-, radiation-, and lambda-dominated universes are considered as a single component universe. A…
In the homogeneous and isotropic Friedmann-Robertson-Walker minisuperspace model, it is known that there are no Euclidean wormhole solutions in the pure gravity system. Here it is demonstrated explicitly that in Taub cosmology, which is one of the simplest anisotropic cosmology models, wormhole solutions do exist in pure general relativity in both classical and quantum contexts.
First a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe filled with dust and a conformally invariant scalar field is quantized. For the closed model we find a discrete set of wormhole quantum states. In the case of flat spacelike sections we find states with classical behaviour at small values of the scale factor and quantum behaviour for large values of the scale factor. Next we study a FRW model with a conformally invariant scalar field and a nonvanishing cosmological constant dynamically introduced by regarding the vacuum as a perfect fluid. The ensuing Wheeler-DeWitt equation turns out to be a b…
We study the classical Euclidean wormholes in the context of extended theories of gravity. With no loss of generality, we use the dynamical equivalence between $f(\tilde{R})$ gravity and scalar-tensor theories to construct a point-like Lagrangian in the flat FRW space time. We first show the dynamical equivalence between Palatini $f(\tilde{R})$ gravity and the Brans-Dicke theory with self-interacting potential, and then show the dynamical equivalence between the Brans-Dicke theory with self-interacting potential and the minimally coupled O'Hanlon theory. We show the existence of new Euclidean …
Certain closed-universe big-bang/big-crunch cosmological spacetimes may be obtained by analytic continuation from asymptotically AdS Euclidean wormholes, as emphasized by Maldacena and Maoz. We investigate how these Euclidean wormhole spacetimes and their associated cosmological physics might be described within the context of AdS/CFT. We point out that a holographic model for cosmology proposed recently in arXiv:1810.10601 can be understood as a specific example of this picture. Based on this example, we suggest key features that should be present in more general examples of this approach to …
We perform analytical and numerical study of static spherically symmetric solutions in the context of Brans-Dicke-like cosmological model by Elizalde et al. with an exponential potential. In this model the phantom regime arises without the appearance of any ghost degree of freedom due to the specific form of coupling. For the certain parameter ranges the model contains a regular solution which we interpret as a wormhole in an otherwise dS Universe. We put several bounds on the parameter values: $ω<0 ,\,\, α^2/|ω|<10^{-5},22.7\lesssim\!ϕ_0\!\lesssim25\,$. The numerical solution could mimic the …
In this paper, we will use a BIonic solution for analyzing the holographic cosmology. A BIonic solution is a configuration of a D3-brane and an anti-D3-brane connected by a wormhole, and holographic cosmology is a recent proposal to explain cosmic expansion by using the holographic principle. In our model, a BIonic configuration will be produced by the transition of fundamental black strings. The formation of a BIonic configuration will cause inflation. As the D3-brane moves away from the anti-D3-brane, The wormhole will get annihilated, and the inflation will end with the annihilation of this…
We study multidimensional cosmology to obtain the wavefunction of the universe using wormhole dominance proposal. Using a prescription for time we obtain the Schroedinger-Wheeler-DeWitt equation without any reference to WD equation and WKB ansatz for WD wavefunction. It is found that the Hartle-Hawking or wormhole-dominated boundary conditions serve as a seed for inflation as well as for Gaussian type ansatz to Schroedinger-Wheeler-DeWitt equation.
The full causal Müller-Israel-Stewart (MIS) theory of dissipative processes in relativistic fluids is applied to a flat, homogeneous and isotropic universe with bulk viscosity. It is clarified in which sense the so called truncated version is a reasonable limiting case of the full theory. The possibility of bulk viscosity driven inflationary solutions of the full theory is discussed. As long as the particle number is conserved almost all these solutions exhibit an exponential increase of the temperature. Assuming that the bulk viscous pressure of the MIS theory may also be interpreted as an ef…
In this paper we investigate the power spectrum of thermal fluctuations in very early stage of viscous cosmology. When the state parameter as well as the viscous coefficient of a barotropic fluid is properly chosen, a scale invariant spectrum with large non-Gaussianity can be obtained. In contrast to the results previously obtained in string gas cosmology and holographic cosmology, we find the non-Gaussianity in this context can be k-independent such that it is not suppressed at large scale, which is expected to be testified in future observation.
We consider dissipation of surface waves on fluids, with a view to its effects on analogue gravity experiments. We begin by reviewing some general properties of wave dissipation, before restricting our attention to surface waves and the dissipative role played by viscosity there. Finally, with particular focus on water, we consider several experimental setups inspired by analogue gravity: the analogue Hawking effect, the black hole laser, the analogue wormhole, and double bouncing at the wormhole entrance. Dissipative effects are considered in each, and we give estimates for their optimized ex…
It has been suggested that wormholes and other non-trivial geometrical structures might have been formed during the quantum cosmological era ($t\sim 10^{-43}$s). Subsequent inflation of the universe might have enlarged these structures to macroscopic sizes. In this paper, spherical geometrical structures in an inflationary RW background are derived from the Einstein equations, using a constraint on the energy-momentum tensor which is an extension of the one expected for inflation. The possibility of dynamical wormholes and other spherical structures are explored in the framework of the solutio…
It is shown that the differential form of Friedmann equations of FRW universe can be recast as a similar form of the first law, $T_{h}dS_{h} = dE + WdV$, of thermodynamics at the apparent horizon of FRW universe filled with the viscous fluid. It is also shown that the generalized second law of thermodynamics holds at the apparent horizon of FRW universe and preserves dominant energy condition.
In this paper we construct modified cosmic Chaplygin gas which has viscosity. We use exponential function method to solve non-linear equation and obtain time-dependent dark energy density. Then discuss Hubble expansion parameter and scale factor and fix them by using observational data. We also investigate stability of this theory.
We investigate the bounce cosmology induced by inhomogeneous viscous fluids in FRW space-time (non necessarly flat), taking into account the early-time acceleration after the bounce. Different forms for the scale factor and several examples of fluids will be considered. We also analyze the relation between bounce and finite-time singularities and between the corresponding fluids realizing this scenarios. In the last part of the work, the study is extended to the framework of $f(R)$-modified gravity, where the modification of gravity may also be considered as an effective (viscous) fluid produc…
In this work we present an analysis of the phantom zone in a causal viscous cosmology from a thermodynamic point of view. In this description we consider a chemical potential and the approach of irreversible processes. We assume a flat universe filled with a single dissipative fluid described by a barotropic equation of state, $p = ωρ$. This model allows to construct a negative chemical potential for the phantom regime but also this construction allows us to have positive definite temperature and entropy.
In this work, we focus on the collapse of a spherically symmetric perturbation, with a classical top-hat profile, to study the nonlinear evolution of only viscous modified Chaplygin gas (VMCG) perturbations in Einstein's gravity as well as in loop quantum Cosmology (LQC). In the perturbed region, we have investigated the natures of equation of state parameter, square speed of sound and another perturbed quantities. The results have been analyzed by numerical and graphical investigations.
Singularities in the dark energy universe are discussed, assuming that there is a bulk viscosity in the cosmic fluid. In particular, it is shown how the physically natural assumption of letting the bulk viscosity be proportional to the scalar expansion in a spatially flat FRW universe can drive the fluid into the phantom region (w < -1), even if lies in the quintessence region (w > -1) in the non-viscous case.
The Full (non--truncated) Israel--Stewart theory of bulk viscosity is applied to dissipative FRW spacetimes. Dimensionless variables and dimensionless equations of state are used to write the Einstein--thermodynamic equations as a plane autonomous system and the qualitative behaviour of this system is determined. Entropy production in these models is also discussed.
We show in this comment that in an anisotropic Bianchi type I model of the Kasner form, it is not possible to describe the growth of entropy, if we want to keep the thermodynamics together with the dominant energy conditions. This consequence disagrees with the results obtained by Brevik and Pettersen [Phys. Rev. D 56, 3322 (1997)].
This article is devoted to the application of the holographic principle to describe Rip brane cosmological models in the presence of a bulk viscosity. We make use of the generalized infrared-cutoff holographic dark energy, introduced by Nojiri and Odintsov We consider various examples: Rip brane cosmology corresponding to the Little Rip case, asymptotic de Sitter theory, and the so-called Big Freeze theory leading to a singularity. Analytical expressions for infrared cutoffs, as well as the particle and the future horizons at the brane, are obtained. The equations for energy conservation on th…
In this paper, we study anisotropic Bianchi-V universe with magnetic field and bulk viscous fluid in string cosmology. Exact solutions of the field equations are obtained by using the equation of state for a cloud of strings, and a relationship between bulk viscous coefficient and scalar expansion. The bulk viscous coefficient is assumed to be inversely proportional to the expansion scalar. It is interesting to examine the effects of magnetized bulk viscous string model in early and late stages of the evolution of the universe. This paper presents the different string models like geometrical (…
We consider a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker spacetime filled with both viscous radiation and nonviscous dust. The former has a bulk viscosity which is proportional to an arbitrary power of the energy density, i.e. $ζ\propto ρ_v^ν$, and viscous pressure satisfying a nonlinear evolution equation. The analysis is carried out in the context of dynamical systems and the properties of solutions corresponding to the fixed points are discussed. For some ranges of the relevant parameter $ν$ we find that the trajectories in the phase space evolve from a FRW singularity towards an asymptotic de Sitter attra…
We discuss influences of bulk viscosity on the Early Universe, which is modeled by Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric and Einstein field equations. We assume that the matter filling the isotropic and homogeneous background is relativistic viscous characterized by ultra-relativistic equations of state deduced from recent lattice QCD simulations. We obtain a set of complicated differential equations, for which we suggest approximate solutions for Hubble parameter $H$. We find that finite viscosity in Eckart and Israel-Stewart fluids would significantly modify our picture about the Early Universe.
D-dimensional cosmological model describing the evolution of a perfect fluid with negative pressure (x-fluid) and a fluid possessing both shear and bulk viscosity in n Ricci-flat spaces is investigated. The second equations of state are chosen in some special form of metric dependence of the shear and bulk viscosity coefficients. The equations of motion are integrated and the dynamical properties of the exact solutions are studied. It is shown the possibility to resolve the cosmic coincidence problem when the x-fluid plays role of quintessence and the viscous fluid is used as cold dark matter.
In this paper we investigate the evolution of the viscous dark energy (DE) interacting with the dark matter (DM) in the Einstein cosmology model. Using the linearizing theory of the dynamical system, we find, in our model, there exists a stable late time scaling solution which corresponds to the accelerating universe, and we also find the unstable solution under some appropriate parameters. In order to alleviate the coincidence problem, some authors considered the effect of quantum correction due to the conform anomaly and the interacting dark energy model. But if we take into account the bulk…
We consider anisotropic cosmological models with an universe of dimension 4 or more, factorized into n>1 Ricci-flat spaces, containing an m-component perfect fluid of m non-interacting homogeneous minimally coupled scalar fields under special conditions. We describe the dynamics of the universe: It has a Kasner-like behaviour near the singularity and isotropizes during the expansion to infinity. Some of the considered models are integrable, and classical as well as quantum solutions are found. Some solutions produce inflation from "nothing". There exist classical asymptotically anti-de Sitter …
We propose a scenario in which the dark components of the Universe are manifestations of a single bulk viscous fluid. Using dynamical system methods, a qualitative study of the homogeneous, isotropic background scenario is performed in order to determine the phase space of all possible solutions. The specific model which we investigate shares similarities with a generalized Chaplygin gas in the background but is characterized by non-adiabatic pressure perturbations. This model is tested against supernova type Ia and matter power spectrum data. Different from other unified descriptions of dark …
In this paper we study the exact solutions for a viscous fluid distribution in Bianchi II, VIII, and IX models. The metric is simplified by assuming a relationship between the coefficients and the metric tensor. Solutions are obtained in two special cases: in one, an additional assumption is made where the matter density and the expansion scalar have a definite relation and in the other a barotropic equation of state between the matter density and the thermodynamic pressure is assumed. While the Bianchi II solutions are already found in the literature the other two classes of solutions are app…
We consider the quantum gravity and cosmology of a Jordan-Brans-Dicke theory, predicted by string effective actions. We study its canonical formalism and find that the constraint algebra is that of general relativity, as a consequence of the general covariance of scalar-tensor theories. We also analyze the problem of boundary conditions and propose that they must be imposed in the Jordan frame, in which particles satisfy the strong equivalence principle. Specifically, we discuss both Hartle-Hawking and wormhole boundary conditions in the context of quantum cosmology. We find quantum wormhole s…
We analyze the dynamics of a Bianchi I cosmology in the presence of a viscous fluid, causally regularized according to the Lichnerowicz approach. We show how the effect induced by shear viscosity is still able to produce a matter creation phenomenon, meaning that also in the regularized theory we address, the Universe is emerging from a singularity with a vanishing energy density value. We discuss the structure of the singularity in the isotropic limit, when bulk viscosity is the only retained contribution. We see that, as far as viscosity is not a dominant effect, the dynamics of the isotropi…
A spatially homogeneous Bianchi type VI0 model containing a viscous fluid in the presence of an axial magnetic field has been studied. A barotropic equation of state together with a pair of linear relations among the square root of matter density, shear scalar, and expansion scalar have been assumed. Solutions are obtained in the presence of a magnetic field, only in two special cases, which are comparatively simpler. The complete solutions for this model in the absence of a magnetic field are also obtained. The presence of a magnetic field in the former case however, does not in effect cause …
We study the entropy-corrected version of the holographic dark energy (HDE) model in the framework of modified FRW cosmology. We consider a non-flat universe filled with an interacting viscous entropy-corrected HDE (ECHDE) with dark matter. We also include the case of variable gravitational constant G in our model. We obtain the equation of state and the deceleration parameters of the interacting viscous ECHDE. Moreover, we reconstruct the potential and the dynamics of the quintessence, tachyon, K-essence and dilaton scalar field models according to the evolutionary behavior of the interacting…
The irrotational Bianchi V cosmological model under the influence of both shear and bulk viscosity, together with heat flux, has been studied. Exact solutions for the model are obtained with three physically viable assumptions. The first two relate the matter density, shear scalar, and expansion scalar and the third is a barotropic equation of state, connecting the matter density and thermodynamic pressure. The properties of the solutions are studied and the temperature distribution is also presented explicitly. It has been observed that along with the viscosity, heat flux further adds to the …
The brane cosmology scenario is based on the idea that our Universe is a 3-brane embedded in a five-dimensional bulk. In this work, a general class of braneworld wormholes is explored with $R\neq 0$, where $R$ is the four dimensional Ricci scalar, and specific solutions are further analyzed. A fundamental ingredient of traversable wormholes is the violation of the null energy condition (NEC). However, it is the effective total stress energy tensor that violates the latter, and in this work, the stress energy tensor confined on the brane, threading the wormhole, is imposed to satisfy the NEC. I…
We investigate cosmological models with two interacting fluids: dark energy and dark matter in flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe. The interaction between dark energy and dark matter is described in terms of the parameters present in the inhomogeneous equation of state when allowance is made for bulk viscosity, for the Little Rip, the Pseudo Rip, and the bounce universes. We obtain analytic representation for characteristic properties in these cosmological models, in particular the bulk viscosity $ζ=ζ(H,t)$ as function of Hubble parameter and time. We discuss the corrections of thermodyn…
We assume cold dark matter to possess a small bulk-viscous pressure which typically attenuates the growth of inhomogeneities. Explicit calculations, based on Eckart's theory of dissipative processes, reveal that for viscous cold dark matter the usual Newtonian approximation for perturbation scales smaller than the Hubble scale is no longer valid. We advocate the use of a neo-Newtonian approach which consistently incorporates pressure effects into the fluid dynamics and correctly reproduces the general relativistic dynamics. This result is of interest for numerical simulations of nonlinear stru…
In this paper we have studied Van-Der-Waals fluid system with the generalized EOS as as discussed in the recent works of Kremer, G.M [1, 4], Vardiashvili, G [2], Jantsch, R.C [3], Capozziello, S [5]. and are functions of energy density and time that are different for the three types of Van der Waals fluid which are one parameter model, two parameters model and three parameters model. We have studied the changes in the parameters for different cosmic phases. We have also investigated the thermodynamics and the stability conditions for these three models. Finally, we have resolved the finite tim…
We apply the method of images to the exact initial data for cosmological models that contain a number of regularly arranged discrete masses. This allows us to join cosmological regions together by throats, and to construct wormholes in the initial data. These wormholes allow for the removal of the asymptotically flat "flange" regions that would otherwise exist on the far side of black holes. The method of images also provides us with a way to investigate the definition of mass is cosmology, and the cosmological consequences of the gravitational interaction energies between massive objects. We …
The holographic principle in a radiation dominated universe is extended to incorporate the case of a bulk-viscous cosmic fluid. This corresponds to a nonconformally invariant theory. Generalization of the Cardy-Verlinde entropy formula to the viscous case appears to be possible from a formal point of view, although we question on physical grounds the manner in which the Casimir energy is evaluated in this case. Also, we consider an observation recently made by Youm, namely that the entropy of the universe is no longer expressible in the conventional Cardy-Verlinde form if one relaxes the radia…
The analytic properties of the energy density rho(t) of the cosmic fluid, and the Hubble parameter H(t), are investigated near to the future singularity t=t_s assuming different forms for the equation of state. First, it is shown that the inclusion of quantum effects coming from the conformal anomaly modifies the singularity. Thereafter, we consider the effect coming from a bulk viscosity in the fluid. The viscosity tends to reduce the magnitude of t_s, but does not alter the singularity itself (the exponent). Main emphasis is laid on the simple case when the equation of state is p=w*rho, with…
We consider the inflation produced by two coupled fluids in the flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe. Different cosmological models for describing inflation by use of an inhomogeneous equation of state for the fluid are investigated. The gravitational equations for energy and matter are solved, and analytic representations for the Hubble parameter and the energy density are obtained. Corrections in the energy density for matter inducing the inflation and the coupling with energy are discussed. We analyze the description of inflation induced by non-constant equation-of-state parameters from…
Analytical properties of the scalar expansion in the cosmic fluid are investigated, especially near the future singularity, when the fluid possesses a constant bulk viscosity ζ. In addition, we assume that there is a Casimir-induced term in the fluid's energy-momentum tensor, in such a way that the Casimir contributions to the energy density and pressure are both proportional to 1/a^4, 'a' being the scale factor. A series expansion is worked out for the scalar expansion under the condition that the Casimir influence is small. Close to the Big Rip singularity the Casimir term has however to fad…
Some phantom cosmological models without big rip singularity have been constructed in a simple extended theory of gravity. In the geometrical part of the action, a minimally coupled linear function of the Ricci Scalar and the trace of the energy momentum tensor have been considered in place of the Ricci scalar. Four Little Rip and Pseudo Rip models have been investigated where the equation of state parameter evolves asymptotically and sufficiently rapidly to $-1$. The effect of the coupling constant of the extended gravity theory on the dynamics has been discussed. Possible wormhole solutions …
