Warm inflationary universe models in the context of a Chaplygin gas equation are studied. General conditions required for these models to be realizable are derived and discussed. By using a chaotic potential we develop models for a dissipation coefficient of the form $Γ\propto ϕ^n$, with $n=0$ or $n\neq 0$.

Sources of magnetic fields from grand unified theories are studied in the warm inflation regime. A ferromagnetic Savvidy vacuum scenario is presented that yields observationally interesting large scale magnetic fields. As an intermediate step, a general analysis is made of defect production at the onset of warm inflation and monopole constraints are obtained. Many features of this Savvidy vacuum scenario are applicable within a supercooled inflation regime and these points are discussed.
Scalar and tensorial cosmological perturbations generated in warm inflationary scenarios whose matter-radiation fluid is endowed with a viscous pressure are considered. Recent observational data from the WMAP experiment are employed to restrict the parameters of the model. We estimate the production of gravitinos during and after the end of a period of warm inflation, a model in which radiation is produced continuously as the field rolls down the potential producing dissipation. We find that gravitino production is efficient for models in the strong dissipation regime, with the result that standard nucleosynthesis is disrupted unless the magnitude of the inflaton potential is very small. A bidimensional parameter space of unitary area is introduced to study phenomenologically the dynamic and thermodynamic behavior of inflationary models driven by a scalar field coupled to a thermal component. In this enlarged context the isentropic and warm pictures are just extreme cases of an infinite two-parametric family of possible inflationary scenarios. An energetic justification of a thermal component during inflation is given. The thermal component can act as a heat reservoir which induces thermal fluctuations on the inflaton field system.
