Commuting is an important property in many cases of investigation of properties of operators as well as in various applications, especially in quantum physics. Using the observation that the generalized weighted differential operator of order $k$ and the weighted Hardy-type operator commute we derive a number of new and interesting identities involving some functions of mathematical physics.

Kernel identities for van Diejen's $q$-difference operators and transformation formulas for multiple basic hypergeometric series

In this paper, we show that the kernel function of Cauchy type for type $BC$ intertwines the commuting family of van Diejen's $q$-difference operators. This result gives rise to a transformation formula for certain multiple basic hypergeometric series of type $BC$. We also construct a new infinite family of commuting $q$-difference operators for which the Koornwinder polynomials are joint eigenfunctions.

Identities for Catalan's constant arising from integrals depending on a parameter

In this paper we provide some relationships between Catalan's constant and the $_3{\rm F}_2$ and $_4{\rm F}_3$ hypergeometric functions, deriving them from some parametric integrals. In particular, using the complete elliptic integral of the first kind, we found an alternative proof of a result of Ramanujan for $_3{\rm F}_2$, a second identity related to $_4{\rm F}_3$ and using the complete elliptic integral of the second kind we obtain an identity by Adamchik.

Hypergeometric identities arising from the elephant random walk

A probabilistic approach is provided to establish new hypergeometric identities. It is based on the calculation of moments of the limiting distribution of the position of the elephant random walk in the superdiffusive regime.

Some binomial formulas for non-commuting operators

Let $D$ and $U$ be linear operators in a vector space (or more generally, elements of an associative algebra with a unit). We establish binomial-type identities for $D$ and $U$ assuming that either their commutator $[D,U]$ or the second commutator $[D,[D,U]]$ is proportional to $U$. Operators $D=d/dx$ (differentiation) and $U$- multiplication by $e^{λx}$ or by $\sin λx$ are basic examples, for which some of these relations appeared unexpectedly as byproducts of an authors' previous medical imaging research.

On simplifications of certain $q$-multisums

Some examples of naturally arising multisum $q$-series which turn out to have representations as fermionic single sums are presented. The resulting identities are proved using transformation formulas from the theory of basic hypergeometric series.

New hypergeometric formulae to $π$ arising from M. Roberts hyperelliptic reductions

In this article we developed a special topic of our pure-mathematics papers concerning the hypergeometric theory. Based upon a Roberts's reduction approach of hyperelliptic integrals to elliptic ones and on the simultaneous multivariable hypergeometric series evaluation of them, several identities have been obtained expressing $π$ in terms of special values of elliptic, hypergeometric and Gamma functions.
