By applying 'Darmois-Israel formalism', we establish a new class of thin shell wormhole in the context of global monopole resulting from the breaking of a global O(3) symmetry. Since global monopole is asymptotically conical (no longer asymptotically flat), we call it as conical thin shell wormhole. Different characteristics of this conical thin shell wormhole, namely, time evolution of the throat, stability, total amount of exotic matter have been discussed.
We provide a new type of thin-shell wormhole from the black holes with dilaton and monopole fields. The dilaton and monopole that built the black holes may supply fuel to construct the wormholes. Several characteristics of this thin-shell wormhole have been discussed. Finally, we discuss the stability of the thin-shell wormholes with a "phantom-like" equation of state for the exotic matter at the throat.
In this paper we have established an asymptotically conical Morris-Thorne wormhole solution supported by anisotropic matter fluid and a global monopole charge in the framework of a $1+3$ dimensional gravity minimally coupled to a triplet of scalar fields $ϕ^a$, resulting from the breaking of a global $O(3)$ symmetry. For the anisotropic matter fluid we have considered the equation of state (EoS) given by $\mathcal{P}_r=ωρ$, with a consequence $ω<-1$, implying a so-called phantom energy at the throat of the wormhole which violates the energy conditions. In addition, we study the weak gravitatio…
We study a traversable wormhole originated by a transformation over the 4D Dymnikova metric which describes analytic Black-Holes (BH). By using a transformation of coordinates which is adapted from the used in the Einstein-Rosen bridge, we study a specific family of geodesics in which a test particle with non-zero electric charge induces an effective magnetic monopole, that is perceived by observers outside the wormhole. Because the Riemannian geometry cannot explain the presence of magnetic monopoles, then we propose a torsional geometry in order to explore the possibility that magnetic monop…
The problem of the electrostatics in conical wormholes is revisited, now improving the background geometries with asymptotical flatness. The electric self-force on a point charge placed at different regions in the spacetime of a conical thin-shell wormhole connecting flat outer submanifolds is obtained and compared with the results of previous works. The study is also carried out in terms of a previously introduced analogy in which the effect of the matter shells on the electric field is reproduced by non-gravitating layers of charge located on the boundary surfaces. Besides, a better insight …
Using Weitzenböck Induced Matter Theory (WIMT), we study Schwarzschild wormholes performing different foliations on an extended (non-vaccuum) 5D manifold. We explore the geodesic equations for observers which are in the interior of a traversable wormhole and how these observers can detect gravito-magnetic monopoles which are dual to gravito-electric sources observed in the outer zone of some Schwarzschild Black-Hole (BH). The densities of these monopoles are calculated and quantized in the Dirac sense. This kind of duality on the extended Einstein-Maxwell equations, relates electric and magnet…
We prove the impossibility of cylindrical thin-shell wormholes supported by matter satisfying the energy conditions everywhere, under reasonable assumptions about the asymptotic behaviour of the - in general different - metrics at each side of the throat. In particular, we reproduce for singular sources previous results corresponding to flat and conical asymptotics, and extend them to a more general asymptotic behaviour. Besides, we establish necessary conditions for the possibility of non exotic cylindrical thin-shell wormholes.
We obtain solutions of Einstein's equations describing gravitational field outside a noncanonical global monopole with cosmological constant. In particular, we consider two models of k-monopoles: the Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) and the power-law types, and study their corresponding exterior gravitational fields. For each model we found two types of solutions. The first of which are global k-monopole black hole with conical global topology. These are generalizations of the Barriola-Vilenkin solution of global monopole. The appearance of noncanonical kinetic terms does not modify the critical symmet…
A class of exact static solution around a global monopole resulting from the breaking of a global S0(3) symmetry is obtained in the context of Lyra geometry. Our solution is shown to possess an interesting feature like wormholes space-time. It has been shown that the global monopole exerts no gravitational force on surrounding non-relativistic matter.
In this paper we develop the nonrelativistic quantum analysis of the charged particle-dyon system in the spacetime produced by an idealized cosmic string. In order to do that, we assume that the dyon is superposed to the cosmic string. Considering this peculiar configuration {\it conical} monopole harmonics are constructed, which are a generalizations of previous monopole harmonics obtained by Wu and Yang(1976 {\it Nucl. Phys. B} {\bf 107} 365) defined on a conical three-geometry. Bound and scattering wave functions are explicitly derived. As to bound states, we present the energy spectrum of …
We consider the space-time metric generated by a global monopole in an extension of General Relativity (GR) of the form $f(\mathcal{R})=\mathcal{R}-λ\mathcal{R}^2$. The theory is formulated in the metric-affine (or Palatini) formalism and exact analytical solutions are obtained. For $λ<0$, one finds that the solution has the same characteristics as the Schwarzschild black hole with a monopole charge in Einstein's GR. For $λ>0$, instead, the metric is more closely related to the Reissner-Nordström metric with a monopole charge and, in addition, it possesses a wormhole-like structure that allows…

We study a higher order conformally coupled scalar tensor theory endowed with a covariant geometric constraint relating the scalar curvature with the Gauss-Bonnet scalar. It is a particular Horndeski theory including a canonical kinetic term but without shift or parity symmetry for the scalar. The theory also stems from a Kaluza-Klein reduction of a well defined higher dimensional metric theory. Properties of an asymptotically flat spherically symmetric black hole are analyzed, and new slowly rotating and radiating extensions are found. Through disformal transformations of the static configura…
We give a comparative description of monopole and electrically charged spherically symmetric dust thin shells. Herewith we consider two of the most interesting configurations: the hollow shell and shell, surrounding a body with opposite charge. The classification of shells in accordance with the types of black holes and traversable wormholes is constructed. The theorems for the parameters of turning points are proved. Also for atomlike configurations the effects of screening (electrical case) and amplification (monopole case) of the internal mass by shell charge are studied. Finally, one consi…
The planar phase of superfluid $^3$He has Dirac points in momentum space and the analog of Dirac monopole in the real space. Here we discuss the combined effect of Dirac point and Dirac monopole. It is shown that in the presence of the monopole the effective metric acting on Dirac fermions corresponds to the metric produced by the global monopole in general relativity: it is the conical metric. Another consequence is that the primary variable, which gives rise to the effective metric, is the unusual vielbein field in the form of the $4\times 5$ matrix, as distinct from the conventional $4\time…
The theory of gravitational lensing has revealed many generic and fundamental properties of compact objects like black holes and wormholes. In this article, we utilize a recent formulation to compute the quantum effects on the deflection angle of a light ray, namely, the Gauss-Bonnet theorem (GBT) to explore the semiclassical gravitational effects in the spacetime of a point-like global monopole and a cosmic string. Previously, the Gauss-Bonnet theorem [Class. Quant. Grav. 25, 235009 (2008)] was proposed as an alternative way to compute the deflection angle of light in a static, spherically sy…
We show that the previously obtained subtracted geometry of four-dimensional asymptotically flat multi-charged rotating black holes, whose massless wave equation exhibit $SL(2,\R) \times SL(2,\R) \times SO(3)$ symmetry may be obtained by a suitable scaling limit of certain asymptotically flat multi-charged rotating black holes, which is reminiscent of near-extreme black holes in the dilute gas approximation. The co-homogeneity-two geometry is supported by a dilation field and two (electric) gauge-field strengths. We also point out that these subtracted geometries can be obtained as a particula…
