We investigate the implications of the model with a SU(2)-singlet up-type quark, heavy enough not to be produced at the LHC, namely, the contribution of the new quark to the branching ratios of the K to πν\barν, B to πν\barν and B to K ν\barν decays. We show that the deviation from the Standard Model can be up to 10% in the case of a 5 TeV quark. Precise measurements of these branching ratios at the future experiments will allow to observe the contributions of the new quark or to impose stronger constraints on its mass.
We investigate how the addition of the singlet Higgs field in the NMSSM changes the sfermion branching ratios as compared to the MSSM. We concentrate in particular on the third generation, discussing decays of the heavier stop, sbottom or stau into the lighter mass eigenstate plus a scalar or pseudoscalar singlet Higgs. We also analyse stop, sbottom and stau decays into singlinos. It turns out that the branching ratios of these decays can be large, markedly influencing the sfermion phenomenology in the NMSSM. Moreover, we consider decays of first and second generation sfermions into singlinos.
To clarify the conflict between the theoretical predictions and experimental measurements of the inclusive J/psi production in Upsilon decay, We consider the alpha_s^6 order color-singlet contributions of processes Upsilon --> J/psi+gg and Upsilon --> J/psi+gggg. Both the branching ratio and J/psi momentum spectrum are calculated, and the branching ratio 4.7 x 10^{-4} is larger than the leading-order contribution (alpha_s^5, Upsilon --> J/psi+c\bar{c}g). Together with the QCD and QED leading-order contributions considered in our previous work, the color-singlet prediction of the branching rati…
ATLAS and CMS recently show the first results from run 2 of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV. A resonant bump at a mass of around 750 GeV in the diphoton invariant mass spectrum is indicated and the corresponding diphoton production cross section is around 3-10 fb. Motivated by the LHC diphoton excess, we propose that the possible resonance candidate is a Higgs singlet. To produce the Higgs singlet via gluon-gluon fusion process, we embed the Higgs singlet in the framework of vector-like triplet quark (VLTQ) model. As a result, the Higgs singlet decaying to diphoton final s…
The semi-inclusive B-meson decay into spin-singlet D-wave $2^{-+}$ charmonium, $B\to η_{c2}+X$, is studied in nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD). Both color-singlet and color-octet contributions are calculated at next-to-leading order (NLO) in the strong coupling constant $α_s$. The non-perturbative long-distance matrix elements are evaluated using operator evolution equations. It is found that the color-singlet $^1D_2$ contribution is tiny, while the color-octet channels make dominant contributions. The estimated branching ratio $B(B\to η_{c2}+X)$ is about $0.41\,\times10^{-4}$ in the Naive Dimensio…
Inspired by the new measurements on $B^{-}\to η^{(\prime)}\ell \barν_{\ell}$ from the BaBar Collaboration, we examine the constraint on the flavor-singlet mechanism, proposed to understand the large branching ratios for $B\to η^{\prime} K$ decays. Based on the mechanism, we study the decays of $\bar B_{d,s}\to η^{(\prime)} \ell^{+} \ell^{-}$ and find that they are sensitive to the flavor-singlet effects. In particular, we show that the decay branching ratios of $\bar B_{d,s}\to η^{\prime} \ell^{+} \ell^{-}$ can be as large as $O(10^{-8})$ and $O(10^{-6})$, respectively.
The mixing of the known quarks with new heavy singlets can modify significantly some observables with respect to the Standard Model predictions. We analyse the range of deviations permitted by the constraints from precision electroweak data and flavour-changing neutral processes at low energies. We study top charged current and neutral current couplings, which will be directly tested at top factories, like LHC and TESLA. We discuss some examples of observables from K and B physics, as the branching ratio of K_L -> pi^0 nu nu, the B^0_s mass difference or the time-dependent CP asymmetry in B_s^…
Exclusive hadronic B-meson decays into two-body final states consisting of a light pseudoscalar or vector meson along with an eta or eta' meson are of great phenomenological interest. Their theoretical analysis involves decay mechanisms that are unique to flavor-singlet states, such as their coupling to gluons or their ``intrinsic charm'' content. These issues are studied systematically in the context of QCD factorization and the heavy-quark expansion. Theory can account for the experimental data on the B->K^{(*)} eta^{(')} branching fractions, albeit within large uncertainties.
J/psi production in top quark rare decays is investigated under the framework of NRQCD factorization formalism. Various production channels are studied, and we find that the contributions from the color-singlet quark fragmentation and the color-octet gluon fragmentation are both over 3 orders larger than that from the leading order color-singlet process. The numerical results show that the branching ratio B(t -> c + J/psi + X) is about 10^{-14} in the SM, and 10^{-10} in the MSSM.
We explore some aspects of "reconstructing" the heavy singlet sector of supersymmetric type I seesaw models, for two, three or four singlets. We work in the limit where one light neutrino is massless. In an ideal world, where selected coefficients of the TeV-scale effective Lagrangian could be measured with arbitrary accuracy, the two-singlet case can be reconstructed, two three or more singlets can be differentiated, and an inverse seesaw with four singlets can be reconstructed. In a more realistic world, we estimate $\ell_\a \to \ell_\b γ$ expectations with a "Minimal-Flavour-Violation-like"…
The VuQ model involves the addition of a vector isosinglet up-type quark to the standard model. In this model the full CKM quark mixing matrix is 4 X 3. Using present flavor-physics data, we perform a fit to this full CKM matrix, looking for signals of new physics (NP). We find that the VuQ model is very strongly constrained. There are no hints of NP in the CKM matrix, and any VuQ contributions to loop-level flavor-changing b -> s, b -> d and s -> d transitions are very small. There can be significant enhancements of the branching ratios of the flavor-changing decays t -> u Z and t -> c Z, but…
We present a detailed study of the exclusive radiative decays $Z\toη^{(\prime)}γ$ employing the QCD factorization approach. We derive a factorization formula for the decay amplitudes valid at leading power in an expansion in $(Λ_{QCD}/m_Z)^2$, which includes convolutions of calculable hard-scattering kernels with the leading-twist quark and gluon light-cone distribution amplitudes of the mesons. Large logarithms arising in the evolution from the high scale $m_Z$ down to hadronic scales are resummed using the renormalization group, carefully accounting for the effects of the heavy bottom and ch…
We study semileptonic decays B -> eta^(\prime) l nu, taking into account the flavor-singlet contribution (F^{singlet}_+) to the B -> eta^(\prime) form factors, which arises from the two-gluon emission in a decaying B meson. It has been recently pointed out that, in addition to large weak annihilation effects, the unknown value of F^{singlet}_+ prevents accurate theoretical estimates in the analysis of B -> eta^\prime K decays in QCD factorization. We present a certain method to determine F^{singlet}_+ with a reasonable accuracy, using B -> eta^(\prime) l nu and B -> pi l nu decays. We also inv…
We show that few-percent Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka-rule violating effects in the quark-flavor basis for the $η$-$η'$ mixing can enhance the chiral scale associated with the $η_q$ meson few times. This enhancement is sufficient for accommodating the dramatically different data of the $B\toη^{\prime} K$ and $B\toηK$ branching ratios. We comment on other proposals for resolving this problem, including flavor-singlet contributions, axial U(1) anomaly, and nonperturbative charming penguins. Discrimination of the above proposals by means of the $B\toη^{(\prime)}\ellν$ and $B_s\toη^{(\prime)}\ell\ell$ data …
General limits on exotic heavy quarks T, B and X with masses above 300 GeV are presented for arbitrary branching fractions of T=>Wb, T=>Zt, T=>Ht, B=>Wt, B=>Zb, B=>Hb and X=>Wt. The results are based on a CMS search in final states with three isolated leptons (electron or muon) or two isolated leptons with the same electric charge. Exotic heavy quark pair production through the strong interaction is considered. In the context of vector-like quark models, T quarks with a mass mT < 480 GeV and mT < 550 GeV are excluded for weak isospin singlets and doublets, respectively, and B quarks with a mas…
I report the recent studies\cite{1,2} on the low--energy manifestations of a minimal extension of the Standard Model based on the quark-lepton symmetry $SU(4)_V \otimes SU(2)_L \otimes G_R$ of the Pati-Salam type. Given this symmetry the third type of mixing in the interactions ot the $SU(4)_V$ leptoquarks with quarks and leptons is shown to be required. An additional arbitrariness of the mixing parameters could allow, in principle, to decrease noticeably the lower bound on the vector leptoquark mass originated from the low-energy rare processes. The decays $μ\rightarrow e γ$, $μ\rightarrow e …
We study the radiative lepton flavor violating l_i -> l_jγdecays in the two Higgs doublet model, respecting the Randall Sundrum scenario and estimate the contributions of the KK modes of left (right) handed charged lepton doublets (singlets) on the branching ratios. We observe that the branching ratios are sensitive to the contributions of the charged lepton KK modes.
The Complex singlet extension of the Standard Model (CxSM) is the simplest extension that provides scenarios for Higgs pair production with different masses. The model has two interesting phases: the dark matter phase, with a Standard Model-like Higgs boson, a new scalar and a dark matter candidate; and the broken phase, with all three neutral scalars mixing. In the latter phase Higgs decays into a pair of two different Higgs bosons are possible. In this study we analyse Higgs-to-Higgs decays in the framework of singlet extensions of the Standard Model (SM), with focus on the CxSM. After demon…
We reconsider the tree level color-singlet contribution for the inclusive J/ψproduction in Υdecay with the α_{s}^{5} order QCD process Υ\to J/ψ+c\bar{c}+g and α^{2}α_s^{2} order QED processes Υ\toγ^{\ast}\to J/ψ+c\bar{c} and Υ\to J/ψ+gg. It is found that the contribution of the QED process is compatible with that of the QCD process, and the numerical results for the QCD process alone is an order of magnitude smaller than the previous theoretical predictions, and our theoretical prediction in total is about an order of magnitude smaller than the recent CLEO measurement on the branching fraction…
We present a systematic study of an extension of the Standard Model (SM) with two Higgs doublets and one complex singlet (2HDM+S). In order to gain analytical understanding of the parameter space, we re-parameterize the 27 parameters in the Lagrangian by quantities more closely related to physical observables: physical masses, mixing angles, trilinear and quadratic couplings, and vacuum expectation values. Embedding the 125\,GeV SM-like Higgs boson observed at the LHC places stringent constraints on the parameter space. In particular, the mixing of the SM-like interaction state with the remain…
In this paper, we calculate the branching ratios for $B^+\to D_s^+η, B^+\to D_s^+η^{\prime}$, $B^+\to D_s^{*+}η$ and $ B^+\to D_s^{*+}η^{\prime}$ decays by employing the perturbative QCD (pQCD) factorization approach. Under the two kinds of $η-η^{\prime}$ mixing schemes, the quark-flavor mixing scheme and the singlet-octet mixing scheme, we find that the calculated branching ratios are consistent with the currently available experimental upper limits. We also considered the so called "$f_{D_s}$ puzzle", by using two groups of parameters about the $D^{(*)}_s$ meson decay constants, that is $f_{…
We discuss implications of recent experimental data for B decays into two pseudoscalar mesons, with emphasis on those with $η$ and $η'$ in the final states. Applying a U-spin argument, we show that tree and penguin amplitudes, both in $B^+ \to π^+ η$ and in $B^+ \to π^+ η'$, are of comparable magnitudes. Nontrivial relative weak and strong phases between the tree-level amplitudes and penguin-loop amplitudes in the $B^{\pm} \to π^{\pm} η$ modes are extracted. We predict possible values for the averaged branching ratio and CP asymmetry of the $B^{\pm} \to π^{\pm} η'$ modes. We test the assumptio…
We study lepton flavor number violating rare B decays, $b \to s l_h^{\pm} l_l^{\mp}$, in a seesaw model with low scale singlet Majorana neutrinos motivated by the resonant leptogenesis scenario. The branching ratios of inclusive decays $ b \to s l_h^{\pm} \bar{l_l}^{\mp} $ with two almost degenerate singlet neutrinos at TeV scale are investigated in detail. We find that there exists a class of seesaw model in which the branching fractions of $ b \to s τμ$ and $τ\to μγ$ can be as large as $10^{-10}$ and $10^{-9}$ within the reach of Super B factories, respectively, without being in conflict wit…
Based on the NRQCD factorization formalism, we calculate the inclusive charm production rate in Upsilon(nS) decay at leading order in the strong coupling constant alpha_s and the relative velocity v of the b quark in the quarkonium rest frame. The branching fractions for Upsilon(nS) to charm for n=1, 2, and 3 are all around 7-9%. About 60% of the branching fraction into charm is from annihilation of the color-singlet bb-bar pair into gamma^* -> cc-bar. Most of the remaining branching fraction is from annihilation of the color-singlet bb-bar pair decaying into cc-bar gg. We also compute the mom…
The top quark decay process $\tcups$ is studied in the Standard Model and the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with conserved and violated $R-$parity. In dealing with the heavy quarkonium, $\ups$, production, we take both color-singlet and -octet mechanisms into consideration. With numerical analysis it is found that within the Standard Model the decay rate of the concerned process is beyond the border of reachable level of the next round of experiment, though it is much larger than that of the rare top decays, while extra new contributions from beyond the Standard Model could enhance the…
We calculate the branching ratio for B -> J/psi + anything, within the color-singlet approximation for J/psi production, but including perturbative QCD corrections beyond the leading logarithm approximation. Such higher order corrections are necessary, in order to obtain a result that is not strongly dependent on the renormalization scale. As in the earlier work of Bergstrom and Ernstrom, we use a double expansion in alpha_s and in the small ratio of Wilson coefficients L_0/L_2, to identify the dominant terms in the decay amplitude. We complete their work by calculating all the leading order t…
The correlation between the invisible Higgs branching ratio ($B_h^{\rm inv} $) vs. dark matter (DM) direct detection ($σ_p^{\rm SI}$) in Higgs portal DM models is usually presented in the effective field theory (EFT) framework. This is fine for singlet scalar DM, but not in the singlet fermion DM (SFDM) or vector DM (VDM) models. In this paper, we derive the explicit expressions for this correlation within UV completions of SFDM and VDM models with Higgs portals, and discuss the limitation of the EFT approach. We show that there are at least two additional hidden parameter in $σ_p^{\rm SI}$ in…
We investigate the influence of the fourth generation quarks on the branching ratio and the CP-asymmetry in B -->π\ell^+ \ell^- decay. Taking the |V_{t'd}V_{t'b}| ~ 0.001 with phase about 10 degree, which is consistent with the sin2ϕ_1 of the CKM and the B_d mixing parameter Δm_{B_d}, we obtain that for both muon and tau channels the branching ratio, the magnitude of CP-asymmetry and lepton polarization depict strong dependency on the 4th generation quarks mass and mixing parameters. These results can serve as a good tool to search for new physics effects, precisely, to search for the fourth g…
This paper investigates the impact of the recent LHC constraints on the Higgs sector in the semi-constrained version of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Our analysis focuses on the parameter space for which the value of the Higgs doublet-singlet coupling, $λ$, is large as possible, while the ratio between the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs doublets, $\tanβ$, is small as possible. Under the current constraints, we present the possible fermionic decay channels and reduced cross-section into fermions final states for the lightest neutral Higgs bosons in the NMSSM, $(…
Light top partners are the prime sign of naturalness in composite Higgs models. We explore here the possibility of non-standard top partner phenomenology. We show that even in the simplest extension of the minimal composite Higgs model, featuring an extra singlet pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson, the branching ratios of the top partners into standard channels can be significantly altered, with no substantial change in the generated Higgs potential. Together with the variety of possible final states from the decay of the pseudo-scalar singlet, this motivates more extensive analyses in the search fo…
The program N2HDECAY calculates the branching ratios and decay widths of the Higgs bosons of the Next-to-Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (N2HDM). The code incorporates the dominant higher-order effects by including QCD corrections and off-shell decay modes. The N2HDM is an extension of the Standard Model by a Higgs doublet and a real Higgs singlet. Its phenomenology can change dramatically depending on which global symmetries are broken by electroweak symmetry breaking. It can feature a large visible Higgs sector in the broken phase, behave like a 2HDM with scalar singlet dark matter in the dark singl…
We study the radiative lepton flavor violating l_1->l_2γdecays in the two Higgs doublet model with localized new Higgs doublet in the Randall Sundrum background. We estimate the contributions of the KK modes of new Higgs bosons and left (right) handed charged lepton doublets (singlets) on the branching ratios of the decays considered. We observe that there is an enhancement in the branching ratios with the addition of new Higgs boson and lepton KK modes.
We calculate the decay branching fractions of the Higgs boson to $J/ψ$ and $η_c$ via the charm-quark fragmentation mechanism for the color-singlet and color-octet states in the framework of non-relativistic QCD. The decay rates are governed by the charm-quark Yukawa coupling, unlike the decay $H\to J/ψ+ γ$, which is dominated by the $γ^*$-$J/ψ$ mixing. We find that the decay branching fractions can be about $2 \times 10^{-5}$ for $H\to c{\bar c}+J/ψ$, and $6 \times 10^{-5}$ for $H\to c{\bar c}+η_c$. We comment on the perspective of searching for the Higgs boson to $J/ψ$ transition at the High-…
The latest search for the rare kaon decay $K^+\toπ^+ν\barν$ by the NA62 experiment has produced evidence for it with a branching fraction consistent with the prediction of the standard model. The new result implies that in this decay, with the $ν\barν$ pair appearing as missing energy ($\not\!\!E$), the room for possible new physics is no longer sizable and that therefore its contributions to underlying four-particle $s\to d\!\not\!\!E$ operators with parity-even $ds$ quark bilinears have become significantly constrained. Nevertheless, we point out that appreciable manifestations from beyond t…
We calculate the decay rate of bottomonium to two-charm quark jets $Υ\to c \bar c$ at the tree level and one-loop level including color-singlet and color-octet $b \bar b$ annihilations. We find that the short distance coefficient of the color-octet piece is much larger than the color-singlet piece, and that the QCD correction will change the endpoint behavior of the charm quark jet. The color-singlet piece is strongly affected by the one-loop QCD correction. In contrast, the QCD correction to the color-octet piece is weak. Once the experiment can measure the branching ratio and energy distribu…
In this paper, we present the branching ratios of the two lightest CP-even Higgses, $h_1$ and $h_2$, and of the lightest CP-odd Higgs, $a_1$, in the context of the Non-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). We find that for some regions of the parameter space, the branching fractions of $a_1$ into the lightest charginos ($a_1\to χ^+_1χ^-_1)$ and neutralinos ($a_1\to χ^0_1χ^0_1)$ are larger than $50\%$, and can reach a $100 \%$ level in the latter case. Furthermore, the branching ratio of the $h_2\to a_1a_1$ can be equal to unity for all masses of $h_2$ when it is a pure singlet. The ab…
Recent data on 125 GeV Higgs-like boson at the LHC starts to constrain the electroweak symmetry breaking sector of the SM and its various extensions. If one imposes the local gauge symmetry of the Standard Model (SM) ($SU(3)_c \times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y$) to the SM and any possible new physics scenarios, the SM Higgs properties will be modified by intrinsically two different ways: by new physics either coupling directly to the SM Higgs boson $h$, or affecting indirectly the SM Higgs properties through the mixing of $h$ with a SM singlet scalar $s$. The models of two Higgs doublet, extra sequ…
In models with large extra dimensions and TeV scale quantum gravity, small (Dirac) neutrino masses can be obtained naturally if the right-handed neutrino propagates in the extra dimensions. In this scenario, with 2 Higgs doublets, we show that the decay of charged Higgs into {\em left-handed} charged lepton (say τ) and right-handed neutrino can be significantly enhanced, with O(1) branching ratio, due to the large number of Kaluza-Klein states of the right-handed neutrino. Since τ's from the standard decay of charged Higgs are {\em right-handed}, the above novel charged Higgs decay can provide…
We study the decay B\to X_sγin a minimal extension of the standard model with extra up- and down-type quarks whose left- and right-handed components are both SU(2) singlets. Constraints on the extended Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix are obtained from the experimental results for the branching ratio. Even if the extra quarks are too heavy to be detected in near-future colliders, the branching ratio could have a value which is non-trivially different from the prediction of the standard model.
We point out that the recent Belle measurements of the $B_{d/s} \to J/Ψη^{(')}$ decays imply large pseudoscalar glueball contents in the $η^{(\prime)}$ meson. These decays are studied in the perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach, considering the $η$-$η'$-$G$ mixing, where $G$ represents the pseudoscalar glueball. It is shown that the PQCD predictions for the $B_{d/s} \to J/Ψη^{(')}$ branching ratios agree well with the data for the mixing angle $ϕ_G\approx 30^\circ$ between the flavor-singlet state and the pure pseudoscalar glueball. Extending the formalism to the $η$-$η'$-$G$-$η_c$ tetramixing, th…
We investigate the influence of the fourth generation of quarks on the branching ratio, the CP-asymmetry and the polarization asymmetries in $B \rar ρ\ell^+ \ell^-$ decay. Taking $|V_{t'd}V_{t'b}|\sim 0.001$ with phase about $10^\circ$, which is consistent with the $sin2ϕ_1$ of the CKM and the $B_d$ mixing parameter $Δm_{B_d}$, we obtain that for both ($μ, τ$) channels the branching ratio is increased and the magnitude of CP-asymmetry and polarization asymmetries decreased by the mass and mixing parameters of the 4th generation of quarks . These results can serve as a good tool to search for n…
We investigate the influence of the boundary conditions of minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) on the supersymmetric mechanism for lepton flavour violation (LFV) proposed recently [1], within the framework of the MSSM extended by TeV-scale singlet heavy neutrinos. We find that the consideration of the mSUGRA boundary condition may increase the branching ratios of the muon and tauon decaying into three charged leptons by up to a factor of 5, whereas the corresponding branching ratio for their photonic decays remains almost unchanged.
The branching ratio for the mu-->e+gamma decay in the framework of the minimal flavour violation in the MSSM is calculated for various regions of the MSSM parameter space. The lepton flavour violation goes through the PMNS mixing matrix. The dependence on tanbeta is studied in comparison with experimental data. The results crucially depend on the mixing angle theta_{13}. Observation of this decay would serve as a manifestation of new physics beyond the SM.
Assuming a heavy electroweak singlet scalar, which couples to the Standard Model gauge bosons only through loop-induced couplings, SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y gauge invariance imposes interesting patterns on its decays into electroweak gauge bosons, which are dictated by only two free parameters. Therefore experimental measurements on any two of the four possible electroweak channels would determine the remaining two decay channels completely. Furthermore, searches in the WW/ZZ channels probe a complimentary region of parameter space from searches in the gamma-gamma/Z-gamma channels. We derive a model-in…
The presence of a new singlet scalar particle a can open up new decay channels for the Higgs boson, through cascades of the form h -> 2a -> X, possibly making discovery through standard model channels impossible. If a is CP-odd, its decay products are particularly sensitive to physics beyond the standard model. Quantum effects from heavy fields can naturally make gluonic decay, a -> 2g, the dominant decay mode, resulting in a h -> 4 g decay which is difficult to observe at hadron colliders, and is allowed by LEP for m_h > 82 GeV. However, there are usually associated decays with photons, eithe…
In the NMSSM, because of introducing a complex singlet superfield, the lightest CP-odd Higgs boson, $a_1$, can be a singlet-like state with a tiny doublet component in large regions of parameter space. In this paper, we examine the discovery potential of $a_1$ produced in association with a bottom-antibottom pair at the LHC through $τ^+τ^-$ and $γγ$ decay modes. It is shown that an $a_1$ with mass $\leq M_Z$ can be extracted from the SM backgrounds by using the $τ^+τ^-$ decay channel, a possibility precluded to the MSSM. In contrast, the $γγ$ decay mode is overwhelmed by backgrounds despite th…
We study radiative decays of $Υ$ to light quark jets in nonrelativistic QCD by taking both the color singlet and color octet $b\bar b$ operators into consideration. The cut for quark jet energy and cut for the angle between two quark jets are introduced. The sensitivity to the soft and collinear singularities in the loop integrals are greatly reduced by these cuts. With the jet energy cut of about 1 GeV, and the jet angle cut of about $36^\circ$, the branching ratio for $Υ\toγq\bar q$ is found to be $8.2\times 10^{-4}$ from color singlet contributions. The color octet contributions could be mu…
Motivated by recent measurements of the radiative decay rates of the \emph{P}-wave spin singlet charmonium $h_c$ to the light meson $η$ or $η^\prime$ by the BESIII Collaboration, we investigate the decay rates of these channels at order $αα_s^4$. The photon is radiated mainly from charm quark pairs in the lowest order Feynman diagrams, since the diagrams where a photon radiated from light quarks are suppressed by $α_s$ or the relative charm quark velocity $v$, due to Charge parity conservation. The form factors of two gluons to $η$ or $η^\prime$ are employed, which are the major mechanism for …
Low energy neutrinoless lepton flavor violating (LFV) processes are studied in an extension of the Standard Model (SM) by heavy SU(2)xU(1) singlet Dirac neutrinos. An upper bound procedure is elaborated for the evaluation of amplitudes. A comment on the extraction of heavy neutrino mixings from astrophysical observations is given. For processes not treated in the applied model the formalism not treated in the applied model the formalism for evaluating the branching ratios (BRs) is presented. The processes previously studied in the model are carefully examined. Some of the previous results are …
We study hadronic decays $χ_{cJ}\rightarrow K^*(892)\bar{K} $ within the effective field theory framework. We consider the colour-singlet and colour-octet contributions and study their properties using (p)NRQCD effective theory. We show that infrared singularities in collinear integrals of the colour-singlet amplitudes can be absorbed into the renormalisation of the colour-octet matrix elements. The heavy quark spin symmetry allows us to establish a relation between the colour-octet matrix elements and to define the spin symmetry breaking corrections which are free from infrared singularities.…
In the presented paper production of charmonium state $\mathcal{Q}$ in exclusive $W\to\mathcal{Q} D_{s}^{(*)}$ decays is analyzed in the framework of both leading order Nonrelativistic Quantum Chromodynamics (NRQCD) and light-cone expansion (LC) models. Analytical and numerical predictions for the branching fractions of these decays in both approaches are given. The typical value of the branching fractions is $\sim 10^{-11}$ and it turns out the LC results are about 4 times lager than NRQCD ones, so the effect of internal quark should be taken into account. Some estimates of color-octet contri…
We have revisited the computations of the flavor violating leptonic decays of the $τ$ and $μ$ leptons into three lighter charged leptons in the Standard Model with non-vanishing neutrino masses. We were driven by a claimed unnaturally large branching ratio predicted for the $τ^-\to μ^- \ell^+ \ell^-$ ($\ell=μ, e$) decays \cite{Pham:1998fq}, which was at odds with the corresponding predictions for the $μ^-\to e^- e^-e^+$ processes \cite{Petcov:1976ff}. In contrast with the prediction in \cite{Pham:1998fq}, our results are strongly suppressed and in good agreement with the approximation done in …
We study lepton flavor violation (LFV) in tau decays induced by heavy Majorana neutrinos within two models: (I) the Standard Model with additional right-handed heavy Majorana neutrinos, i.e., a typical seesaw-type model; (II) the Standard Model with left-handed and right-handed neutral singlets, which are inspired by certain scenarios of SO(10)models and heterotic superstring models with E_6 symmetry. We calculate various LFV branching ratios and a T-odd asymmetry. The seesaw Model I predicts very small branching ratios for LFV processes in most of the parameter space, although in a very restr…
We investigate the effects of the radiatively-generated tan beta-enhanced Higgs-singlet Yukawa couplings on the decay $Υ\to γA_1$ in the NMSSM, where $A_1$ is the lightest CP-odd scalar. This radiative coupling is found to dominate in the case of a highly singlet Higgs pseudoscalar. The branching ratio for the production of such a particle is shown to be within a few orders of magnitude of current experimental constraints across a significant region of parameter space. This represents a potentially observable signal for experiments at present B-factories.
The nonet symmetry scheme seems to describe rather well the masses and $η-η^{\prime}$ mixing angle of the ground state pseudo-scalar mesons. It is expected that nonet symmetry should also be valid for the matrix elements of the pseudo-scalar densitty operators which play an important role in charmless two-body B decays with $η$ or $η^{\prime}$ in the final state. Starting from the divergences of the SU(3) octet and singlet axial vector currents, we show that nonet symmetry for the pseudo-scalar mass term implies nonet symmetry for the pseudo-scalar density operators. In this nonet symmetry sch…
