CCD UBVRI photometry is presented for type IIn SN 2005kd. The maximum luminosity exceeded Mv=-19.8, and SN remained brighter than -18 mag for about 400 days. While overall photometric evolution is quite similar to SN 1997cy, SN 2005kd shows a plateau at phases between 119 and 311 days past explosion, which is a unique feature for SN IIn.

A formula for off-axis emissions from the beamed afterglow of GRBs in a synchrotron model is derived. The formula is applied to an inhomogeneous circumstellar matter obeying n proportional to 1/r**2 suggested for SN1998bw/GRB980425. The slow decline rate as well as the X-ray flux similar to the observed values are obtained for appropriate choice of the parameters so that the association of GRB980425 with SN1998bw is further strengthened.

Near-Infrared (NIR) observations are presented for five Type IIn supernovae (SN 1995N, SN 1997ab, SN 1998S, SN 1999Z, and SN 1999el) that exhibit strong infrared excesses at late times (t >= 100 d). We present the photometric and spectroscopic evolution of the type IIn SN 1995G in NGC 1643, on the basis of 4 years of optical and infrared observations. This supernova shows very flat optical light curves similar to SN 1988Z, with a slow decline rate at all times. We discuss the properties of the hyper-energetic Type Ic supernovae (SNe Ic) 1998bw and 1997ef and Type IIn supernova (SN IIn) 1997cy. SNe Ic 1998bw and 1997ef are characterized by their large luminosity and the very broad spectral features. Near-infrared photometric observations of the Type IIn SN 2005ip in NGC 2906 reveal large fluxes (>1.3 mJy) in the K_s-band over more than 900 days. We report a series of extensive photometric and spectroscopic observations of the luminous M31 nova M31N 2007-11d. Our photometric observations coupled with previous measurements show that the nova took at least four days to reach peak brightness at R~14.9 on 20 Nov 2007 UT. After reaching maximum, the time for the nova to decline 2 and 3 magnitudes from maximum light (t_2 and t_3) was ~9.5 and ~13 days, respectively, establishing that M31N 2007-11d was a moderately fast declining nova. We study the physical origin of this width-luminosity relation (WLR) using detailed radiative transfer calculations of Chandrasekhar mass SN Ia models. We present optical and infrared photometry of the unusual Type Ia supernova 2000cx. With the data of Li et al. (2001) and Jha (2002), this comprises the largest dataset ever assembled for a Type Ia SN, more than 600 points in UBVRIJHK. We present the spectral evolution, light curve, and corresponding interpretation for the "normal-bright" Type Ia Supernova 2005cg discovered by ROTSE-IIIc. We present late-time (590-994 d) mid-IR photometry of the normal, but highly-reddened Type IIP supernova SN 2002hh. Bright, cool, slowly-fading emission is detected from the direction of the supernova. Most of this flux appears not to be driven by the supernova event but instead probably originates in a cool, obscured star-formation region or molecular cloud along the line-of-sight. We present optical spectra of the peculiar Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) 1999ac. The data extend from -15 to +42 days with respect to B-band maximum and reveal an event that is unusual in several respects.
