Golden Ratio Controlled Chaos in Supersymmetric Dynamics

We construct supersymmetric Lagrangians for the recently constructed off-shell worldline N=3 supermultiplet $Y_I/(i D_I X)$ for I=1,2,3, where $Y_I$ and $X$ are standard, Salam-Strathdee superfields: $Y_I$ fermionic and $X$ bosonic. Already the Lagrangian bilinear in component fields exhibits a total of thirteen free parameters, seven of which specify Zeeman-like coupling to external (magnetic) fluxes. Mesons in marginally deformed AdS/CFT

We study the embedding of spacetime filling D7-branes in beta-deformed backgrounds which, according to the AdS/CFT dictionary, corresponds to flavoring beta-deformed N=4 super Yang-Mills. We consider supersymmetric and more general non-supersymmetric three parameter deformations. The equations of motion for quadratic fluctuations of a probe D7-brane wrapped on a deformed three-sphere exhibit a non-trivial coupling between scalar and vector modes induced by the deformation. N=1 Supersymmetric Gauge Theories and Supersymmetric 3-cycles

In this paper we discuss the strong coupling limit of chiral N=1 supersymmetric gauge theory via their embedding into M-theory. In particular we focus on the brane box models of Hanany and Zaffaroni and show that after a T-duality transformation their M-theory embedding is described by supersymmetric 3-cycles; its geometry will encode the holomorphic non-perturbative information about the gauge theory.

Supersymmetric Runge-Lenz-Pauli vector for Dirac vortex in topological insulators and graphene

The Dirac mass-vortex at the surface of a topological insulator or in graphene is considered. Within the linear approximation for the vortex amplitude's radial dependence, the spectrum is a series of degenerate bound states, which can be classified by a set of accidental SU(2) and supersymmetry generators (I. F. Herbut and C.-K. Lu, Phys. Rev. B 83 125412 (2011)). Here we discuss further the properties and manifestations of the supersymmetry of the vortex Hamiltonian, and point out some interesting analogies to the Runge-Lenz-Pauli vector in the non-relativistic hydrogen atom. Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov states in a superconducting ring with magnetic fields: Phase diagram and the first-order phase transitions

We find the angular Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) states (or the twisted kink crystals) in which a phase and an amplitude of a pair potential modulate simultaneously in a quasi-onedimensional superconducting ring with a static Zeeman magnetic field applied on the ring and static Aharonov-Bohm magnetic flux penetrating the ring. The superconducting ring with magnetic flux produces a persistent current, whereas the Zeeman split of Fermi energy results in the spatial modulation of the pair potential.
