The antisymmetrised two-electron functions are constructed for the point group T$_{h}$, i.e. the symmetry group of unconventional superconductor PrOs$% _{4}$Sb$_{14}$., and its subgroup D$_{2h}$.The nodal structure of these function depending on the wavevector group is investigated. Theoretical nodal structure of these functions made possible to explain the experimental nodal structure PrOs$_{4}$Sb$_{14}$. as a result of time-reversal symmetry violation.

Transverse voltage in zero external magnetic fields, its scaling and violation of the time reversal symmetry in MgB2

The longitudinal and transverse voltages (resistances) have been measured for MgB$_2$ in zero external magnetic fields. Samples were prepared in the form of thin film and patterned into the usual Hall bar shape. In close vicinity of the critical temperature T$_c$ non-zero transverse resistance has been observed. Time Reversal Symmetry Breaking in the B Phase of the Heavy Fermion Superconductor PrOs$_4$Sb$_{12}$

We present polar Kerr effect measurements of the filled skutterudite superconductor PrOs$_4$Sb$_{12}$. Simultaneous AC susceptibility measurements allow us to observe the superconducting transition under the influence of heating from the optical beam. A nonzero Kerr angle $θ_K$ develops below the superconducting transition, saturating at $\sim 300$ nrad at low temperatures. This result is repeated across several measurements of multiple samples. By extrapolating the measured $θ_K(T)$ to zero optical power, we are able to show that the Kerr angle onset temperature in one set of measurements is …

Time-Reversal Symmetry-Breaking Superconductivity in Heavy Fermion PrOs4Sb12 detected by Muon Spin Relaxation

We report on muon spin relaxation measurements of the 4f^2-based heavy-fermion superconductor filled-skutterudite PrOs4Sb12. The results reveal the spontaneous appearance of static internal magnetic fields below the superconducting transition temperature, providing unambiguous evidence for the breaking of time-reversal symmetry in the superconducting state. A discussion is made on which of the spin or orbital component of Cooper pairs carries a nonzero momentum.

Unusual Nernst effect suggestive of time-reversal violation in the striped cuprate La$_{2-x}$Ba$_x$CuO$_4$

The striped cuprate La$_{2-x}$Ba$_x$CuO$_4$ ($x=\frac18)$ undergoes several transitions below the charge-ordering temperature $T_{co}$ = 54 K. From Nernst experiments, we find that, below $T_{co}$, there exists a large, anomalous Nernst signal $e_{N,even}(H,T)$ that is symmetric in field $H$, and remains finite as $H\to 0$. The time-reversal violating signal suggests that, below $T_{co}$, vortices of one sign are spontaneously created to relieve interlayer phase frustration.

Time-Reversal-Symmetry Violation and Coexistence of Superconducting and Magnetic Order in CeRh(1-x)Ir(x)In(5)

This paper has been withdrawn by the authors. We performed additional zero-field muon spin relaxation measurements in the superconducting state of CeIrIn$_5$ and found that the spontaneous fields reported previously below $T_c$ are not present. Thus, there is no evidence for a time-reversal-symmetry-violating superconducting order parameter. These new zero-field measurements, as well as new measurements of the penetration depth in this system, will be reported elsewhere. A phenomenology for multiple phases in the heavy fermion skutterudite superconductor PrOs4Sb12

The two superconducting phases recently discovered in skutterudite PrOs4Sb12 are discussed by using the phenomenological Ginzburg-Landau theory in the cubic (tetrahedral) crystal symmetry T_h. Building on experimental imput coming from the recent thermal conductivity measurements, the structure of the gap functions for these two phases are considered for the spin singlet pairing case. One of the phases lying in the high temperature and high field region (the A phase) is a strongly "anisotropic s-wave" state and another phase (the B phase) is "anisotropic s"+ i d-wave state. On Superconducting Double Transition in PrOs_4_Sb_12

Superconducting double transition in PrOs_4_Sb_12 is investigated by analyzing the anisotropy of the upper critical field H_c2 in the ab-plane, and the possible pairing state is discussed. When mixing due to gradient coupling is active, the twofold-symmetric component is necessarily induced in the fourfold symmetric phase, leading to the twofold oscillation of H_c2, contrary to the experimental result. To avoid the mixing effect, the weak spin-orbit coupling triplet pairing state is considered as a likely pairing function, where time-reversal symmetry is broken.

Recent AC susceptibility and polar Kerr effect measurements in the skutterudite superconductor PrOs4Sb12 (POS) uncovered the nature of the superconducting double transition from a high temperature, high field, time reversal symmetric phase (or the A phase) to a low temperature, low field, time reversal symmetry broken phase (or the B phase). Detecting Dichroism in Angle Resolved Photoemission

Recently, the time-reversal violation predicted for the pseudogap phase of the cuprates, which was observed by dichroism experiments using Angle-Resolved Photoemission has also been observed by polarized neutron diffraction. Earlier derivation of dichroism in angle resolved photoemission due to time-reversal violation relied on existence of mirror planes in the crystal. Here the theory of the effect is generalized to the case that mirror plane symmetry is weakly violated due to perturbing potentials such as a superstructure.

Exciton Mediated Superconductivity in PrOs4Sb12

The most important character of the exotic superconductor PrOs4Sb12 is the existence of low-lying excitations (excitons) with a finite energy gap and it appears as the magnetic field-induced order above 4.5 T. We focus on the a_u conduction band, which hybridizes with a Pr 4f^2 state strongly, coupled to the excitons. It results in an attractive interaction between the conduction electrons. The symmetry of the superconducting order parameter is determined by dispersion relation of the exciton. Generalized Spin Fluctuation Feedback In Correlated Fermion Superconductors

Experiments reveal that the superconductors $\text{UPt}_3$, $\text{U}_{1-x}\text{Th}_x\text{Be}_{13}$ and $\text{PrOs}_4\text{Sb}_{12}$ undergo two superconducting transitions in the absence of an applied magnetic field.
