The effect of dressing on high-order harmonic generation in vibrating H$_2$ molecules

We develop the strong-field approximation for high-order harmonic generation in hydrogen molecules, including the vibrational motion and the laser-induced coupling of the lowest two Born-Oppenheimer states in the molecular ion that is created by the initial ionization of the molecule. We show that the field dressing becomes important at long laser wavelengths ($\approx 2 μ$m), leading to an overall reduction of harmonic generation and modifying the ratio of harmonic signals from different isotopes.

The response of a neutral atom to a strong laser field probed by transient absorption near the ionisation threshold

We present transient absorption spectra of an extreme ultraviolet attosecond pulse train in helium dressed by an 800 nm laser field with intensity ranging from $2\times10^{12}$ W/cm$^2$ to $2\times10^{14}$ W/cm$^2$. The energy range probed spans 16-42 eV, straddling the first ionisation energy of helium (24.59 eV). Larmor frequency dressing by an anharmonic transverse magnetic field

We present a theoretical and experimental study of spin precession in the presence of both a static and an orthogonal oscillating magnetic field, which is nonresonant, not harmonically related to the Larmor precession, and of arbitrary strength. Due to the intrinsic nonlinearity of the system, previous models that account only for the simple sinusoidal case cannot be applied. Dynamics in spinor condensates controlled by a microwave dressing field

We experimentally study spin dynamics in a sodium antiferromagnetic spinor condensate with off-resonant microwave pulses. In contrast to a magnetic field, a microwave dressing field enables us to explore rich spin dynamics under the influence of a negative net quadratic Zeeman shift $q_{\rm net}$. Harmonic fine tuning and triaxial spatial anisotropy of dressed atomic spins

The addition of a weak oscillating field modifying strongly dressed spins enhances and enriches the system quantum dynamics. Through low-order harmonic mixing the bichromatic driving generates additional rectified static field acting on the spin system. Multipolar Fermi-surface deformation in a Rydberg-dressed Fermi gas with long-range anisotropic interactions

We study theoretically the deformation of the Fermi surface (FS) of a three-dimensional gas of Rydberg-dressed $^6$Li atoms. The laser dressing to high-lying Rydberg $D$ states results in angle-dependent soft-core-shaped interactions whose anisotropy is described by multiple spherical harmonics. We show that this can drastically modify the shape of the FS and that its deformation depends on the interplay between the Fermi momentum $k_F$ and the reciprocal momentum $\bar{k}$ corresponding to the characteristic soft-core radius of the dressing-induced potential. Phase Measurement of Resonant Two-Photon Ionization in Helium

We study resonant two-color two-photon ionization of Helium via the 1s3p 1P1 state. The first color is the 15th harmonic of a tunable titanium sapphire laser, while the second color is the fundamental laser radiation. Our method uses phase-locked high-order harmonics to determine the {\it phase} of the two-photon process by interferometry. The measurement of the two-photon ionization phase variation as a function of detuning from the resonance and intensity of the dressing field allows us to determine the intensity dependence of the transition energy.

A Voigt effect based 3D vector magnetometer

We describe a method to dispersively detect all three vector components of an external magnetic field using alkali atoms based on the Voigt effect. Our method relies on measuring the linear birefringence of the radio frequency dressed atomic medium via polarization homodyning. This gives rise to modulated polarization signals at the first and second harmonic of the dressing frequency. Femtosecond induced transparency and absorption in the extreme ultraviolet by coherent coupling of the He 2s2p (1P0) and 2p2 (1Se) double excitation states with 800 nm light

Femtosecond high-order harmonic transient absorption spectroscopy is used to observe electromagnetically induced transparency-like behavior as well as induced absorption in the extreme ultraviolet by laser dressing of the He 2s2p (1Po) and 2p2 (1Se) double excitation states with an intense 800 nm field. Trapping atoms with radio-frequency adiabatic potentials

In this chapter we review the field of radio-frequency dressed atom trapping. We emphasise the role of adiabatic potentials and give simple, but generic models of electromagnetic fields that currently produce traps for atoms at microkelvin temperatures and below. The paper aims to be didactic and starts with general descriptions of the essential ingredients of adiabaticity and magnetic resonance.
