Galois theory and integral models of Lambda-rings

We show that any Lambda-ring, in the sense of Riemann-Roch theory, which is finite etale over the rational numbers and has an integral model as a Lambda-ring is contained in a product of cyclotomic fields. In fact, we show that the category of them is described in a Galois-theoretic way in terms of the monoid of pro-finite integers under multiplication and the cyclotomic character. We also study the maximality of these integral models and give a more precise, integral version of the result above. These results reveal an interesting relation between Lambda-rings and class field theory.

Lambda actions of rings of integers

Let O be the ring of integers of a number field K. For an O-algebra R which is torsion free as an O-module we define what we mean by a Lambda_O-ring structure on R. We can determine whether a finite etale K-algebra E with Lambda_O-ring structure has an integral model in terms of a Deligne-Ribet monoid of K. This a commutative monoid whose invertible elements form a ray class group.

We introduce the Andre-Quillen cohomology of lambda-rings and Psi-rings, this is different to the lambda-ring cohomology defined by Yau in 2005. We show that there is a natural transformation connecting the cohomology of the K-theory of spheres to the homotopy groups of spheres.

Quasi-Galois theory in symmetric-monoidal categories

Given a ring object $A$ in a symmetric monoidal category, we investigate what it means for the extension $\mathbb{1}\rightarrow A$ to be (quasi-)Galois. In particular, we define splitting ring extensions and examine how they occur. On the Cartan map for crossed products and Hopf-Galois extensions

We study certain aspects of the algebraic K-theory of Hopf-Galois extensions. We show that the Cartan map from K-theory to G-theory of such an extension is a rational isomorphism, provided the ring of coinvariants is regular, the Hopf algebra is finite dimensional and its Cartan map is injective in degree zero. This covers the case of a crossed product of a regular ring with a finite group and has an application to the study of Iwasawa modules.
