Quasi-Fuchsian AdS representations are Anosov

In a recent paper, Q. Mérigot proved that representations in SO(2,n) of uniform lattices of SO(1,n) which are Anosov in the sense of Labourie are quasi-Fuchsian, i.e. are faithfull, discrete, and preserve an acausal subset in the boundary of anti-de Sitter space. In the present paper, we prove the reverse implication. It also includes: -- A construction of Dirichlet domains in the context of anti-de Sitter geometry, -- A proof that spatially compact globally hyperbolic anti-de Sitter spacetimes with acausal limit set admit locally CAT(-1) Cauchy hypersurfaces.

Let Gamma be a cocompact lattice in SO(1,n). A representation rho: Gamma \to SO(2,n) is quasi-Fuchsian if it is faithfull, discrete, and preserves an acausal subset in the boundary of anti-de Sitter space - a particular case is the case of Fuchsian representations, ie. composition of the inclusions of Gamma in SO(1,n) and of SO(1,n) in SO(2,n). Cusped Hitchin representations and Anosov representations of geometrically finite Fuchsian groups

We develop a theory of Anosov representation of geometrically finite Fuchsian groups in SL(d,R) and show that cusped Hitchin representations are Borel Anosov in this sense. We establish analogues of many properties of traditional Anosov representations. In particular, we show that our Anosov representations are stable under type-preserving deformations and that their limit maps vary analytically. We also observe that our Anosov representations fit into the previous frameworks of relatively Anosov and relatively dominated representations developed by Kapovich-Leeb and Zhu.

Quasi-Fuchsian co-Minkowski manifolds

This survey is an introduction to the geometry of co-Minkowksi space, the space of unoriented spacelike hyperplanes of the Minkowski space. Affine deformations of cocompact lattices of hyperbolic isometries act on it, in a way similar to the way that quasi-Fuchsian groups act on hyperbolic space. In particular, there is a convex core. Cross Ratios, Anosov Representations and the Energy Functional on Teichmuller Space

We study Hitchin representations and maximal symplectic representations of surface groups, which can be both thought of as generalisations of Fuchsian representations. We show that the corresponding energy functionals are proper on Teichmuller space. We also prove that the mapping class group acts properly on the corresponding moduli spaces. These two results follows from the fact these representations are well displacing which is a consequence they are associated to cross ratios. We state some applications.

Dominating surface group representations and deforming closed AdS 3-manifolds

In a previous paper by Deroin-Tholozan, the authors construct a map $\mathbfΨ_ρ$ from the Teichmüller space of $S$ to itself and prove that, when $M$ has sectional curvature $\leq -1$, the image of $\mathbfΨ_ρ$ lies (almost always) in the domain $\mathrm{Dom}(ρ)$ of Fuchsian representations stricly dominating $ρ$. Here we prove that $\mathbfΨ_ρ: \mathrm{Teich}(S) \to \mathrm{Dom}(ρ)$ is a homeomorphism. As a consequence, we are able to describe the topology of the deformation space of anti-de Sitter structures on closed 3-manifolds.
